It stayed nice all day here but it's drizzling now . I just watched a programme on BBC4 about the Mods and Rockers,very interesting .
I watched that Quirke programme last night .Bit mediocre .The books were really good though and I expected better.
I'm tired ..Goodnight all.

hello all, yes i saw pics of the fire in Fakenham, very sad. hope you are all well and some of us aren't rolling around in agony because of our strange diet......
we went shopping in town yesterday, went to ikea for sheets and bathroom bins and plastic bags, came home with all those plus a huge stuffed fish, 5 orchids because they were on offer, three huge pots of those big white daisies ditto, a twisted spider plant because i liked it, three roasting tins, two icetrays, fishes and starfish and a quilt and pillow case set. then we went to marks and i bought 7 shirts but 4 are going back. my sis is a baaaaaaad influence!

Shame about that fire, it is terrible isn't it. I was always afraid of fire even as a kid, that was one of the things I would pray the Lord to protect me from!!

Sunny outside, but there is still a nip in the air. Have friends arriving tonight at 1am, poo Mr N has to collect them from the airport.

Not a very nice one though ,it's pouring down .
Phew ,that sounds like a successful shopping trip Woofy .I had a look round Ikea yesterday but I didn't buy anything .

Morning all...crip weather set in for the day (and tomorrow) here too.

That's why I've never been to Ikea, I'd probably need a removal van to bring me home. Woofy I have a feeling the boys will be very interested in that fish cushion ... :)

My project du jour will be sewing up my cardigan, I finished it, yay! I thought I might lose interest but I've enjoyed doing it so I'm already looking for my next project. Not keen on the sewing part tho', I might just staple it.

The aftermath of the fire is simply dreadful. I can't believe it. Apparently the worse fire in Norfolk for 20 years.

morning all, quite Turkeyed out, an immense amount of climbing up to monasteries, castles, temples etc and very little time to rest; lots of people, including me, with some tummy trouble - not the food at all, just everyone was exhausted. Well, I was strolling through the Blue Mosque in Istanbul yesterday in 30 degree heat and am now sitting under a grey sky in the sultry SE of the UK in about 15 degrees. I will try to read recent posts when I can, but that fire looks awful

oh, very sweet, thank you.... millions of them in the shops but I never saw anyone wearing one. Lots fidgeting with their worry beads on the plane, though, and no wonder, the runway at Istanbul seems to be full of sinkholes.
