I think all advertising for holidays to Portugal should be banned. How can anyone trust a country whose police has handled this case in such a messy way? I would defiantly not be taking my family there again. I also think that rich personalities like Sir Cliff Richard who lives there should uproot and move to a country that would spend the tax that he pays on his vineyards etc. On a better police force.

I have also decided that because I have now got the hump with Sir Cliff Richard, I will try and sell all the records that I have him and send any money that I receive to Madeleine's fund. If I can't sell them I know just the place for them on the 5th November!

In the nicest possible way Totter, this is possibly the most ridiculous suggestion I have seen on this site. I doubt very much a single country hasn't got a police force that hasn't completely bungled a police investigation. Innocent people being put to death in America, Ben Needhams mum being the prime suspect for his abductiion for the first 4 weeks of the investigation in Greece, Menendez getting shot here and I am sure the list foes on. Not only would we ever go anywhere we wouldn't leave our houses for fear of being wrongly imprisoned or murdered etc etc

Ethels point is valid, not creepy or sick. If I thought Portugal was rife with paedophiles and my kids had more chance of being abducted there than elsewhere then i wouldnt go. Id be more scared of the risk of something else happening again in the first place than how it would be handled if it did. In all honesty fter this do you really think that if you reported your child missing they wouldnt put all borders on higher awareness or close them as soon as possible, after this. Portgal was probably a very safe holiday destination this summer.

Squarebear � For your chum Ethel to mention paedophiles twice in two different postings when all I did was to simply post my opinion regarding Portuguese police is as far as I�m concerned �Banging on about it� and it looks like this sickening fascination that both of you seem to share is a fixation, so much so that it looks like your circle of contacts may even know something more than even the Portuguese police know!

Other possibilities for maddy�s disappearance are possible, not just your sick presumptions.

It's very rare that a newcomer comes and manages to annoy almost everyone at once.

You are of course entitled to ignore me (which I suspect you will) but I would suggest easing up on the abuse of the site's members until you've had a chance to see/read that the majority of them are level headed human beings, and despite you labelling us all sick, we are far from it.

I went to Portugal this last year. Its great! Really nice area, had zero problems.

As apathetic as this might sound, i'm not gonna change my ways and agenda because of the death of ONE. Very tragic, and my heart goes out to all those hurt by it, but seriously.

I am not particularly sure what you are aiming for in this thread Totter but you're fighting for a lost cause. The fact is, whats done is done and the world still turns. As harsh and apathetic as that sounds its just the way I, and apparantly many others, feel.

talking about cliffs wine, i know we werent as such but anyway, cliff was given several different wines to taste and to rate them, he rated his own the worst and said he would never buy or drink anything like that!!!
