I need someone to feed my cats when I'm away and have come across Pawshake. Has anyone used them and if so, was your experience good or bad.

I have never heard of them. You are wise to check them out before trusting them to care for your furry friends.

Try checking this site to see if they can help http://www.icatcare.org/advice they may give links to other sites.

Maybe some Googling will help you find some accredited/vetted sitters.

Join your local Streetlife website and ask for recommendations there. That`s how I aquired my cat feeder and he is fantastic

Pawshake started in Belgium and is well-respected. However they don't seem to be well-established here yet as there are no online reviews that I can find and their website shows that they've not got anyone on their list as a pet-sitter in my own area.

I've only ever asked one person to look after my cat. He was both a good neighbour and a good boozing partner and I had no qualms whatsoever about leaving him the key to my house, so that he could feed the cat, when I went away on Christmas Eve. I returned a few days later to find a stack of unopened cans and a starving cat; my neighbour had been found dead from a heart attack on Christmas morning :(

Thanks, some good advice there. Pawshake seemed OK, feeders looked OK. But, I wasn't keen on having to sign up and I was concerned there were no independent reviews. Your story is sad Buenchico, not nice. It happened to my cats once but that because my sister just forgot!
