Update On My 'i Am Seething 'post

The lady came round today to collect all my spare doggy paraphernalia. She is acquiring the dog through a Bulgarian rescue centre and it will be house and lead trained. She no longer feels that she needs a crate. Phew!

She was really grateful for the donations and gave me a bottle of wine as a thank you. That was nice.

She also asked if I would mind if she rang me in the future if she needed some advice. I told he I would love to help, if I can.

I feel much better now and really do wish her and her family well on the new addition.

I have a crate for Tilly. It's a canvas one which is in the back of the car. I feel she is safer in a crate than she would be if she was roaming about in the back with just a dog guard to keep her from moving on to the back seats.. Also, when she's wet and stinky, it's easier to take out the crate and 'air' it than it is to air the car.

Anyhow, crates can be useful at times but they should never be used to keep the dog enclosed so that it doesn't do any damage or get up to mischief.

Tilly, very well done on helping this woman to give her dog a better new life.
Having worked in a veterinary surgery and done rescue work, I can assure everyone that there is very much ‘home grown’ savagery and immense cruelty to dogs, cats and other mammals.
I really do disagree with adopting from abroad.

It is not something that I would do, Jakep. I have had three rescue dogs from a local rescue centre. All of those dogs were a treasure to me. My present dog, Tilly, is now thirteen years old and when she goes, it will be the local rescue centre that I will contact, after a time of mourning.

When our lovely "Cassie" was with us(Blue Merle/Bearded Collie cross) she always travelled in the passenger footwell. If "She who must be obeyed" drove, I sat in the back. If I drove she wagged her tail and rested her blue eyed snout on the transmission column because she knew we were going to the pub and not the vet. :))

Togo, we have two rescues, the latest one (2 yrs) Bruno, loves going to the Vets. He lived there for 2 weeks after going in for an OP his then owner couldn't afford to pay for, we got a call from the Vet to see if we could take him, we did, love him to bits. We go to the Vets for whatever reason, whichever dog and he can't get in there quick enough, they must've spoiled him rotten ;o)

Baldric, on a recent trip to the vet a Lab puppy was so excited at the prospect of seeing a vet. I had never seen such an enthusiastic patient before. It would be nice if they all enjoyed the trip.

Haha love that Baldric and Wolf. She did love the shampoo and coat trim lady though...……..Then rolled in the shii ite as soon as she got home and grinned at us.
