Hoping today brings relief for both of you - I’ve been watching your posts with interest since my dear Missie had a bout of pancreatitis just before Easter and spent two and a half days on a drip ( home at night ) My vet was right on the ball & suspected pancreatitis straightaway though she’d just stopped eating & was very flat, and luckily she responded very...

Morning all. We both slept like logs last night. Well I did so I'm betting he did or he would have woken me up. His BFF from across the corridor has given Jay his meds and we think he's a bit better today. I hope he's happy to follow the vet's advice and stay in and rest. We shall see. He loves getting his own way. Thanks to all who have shown an interest in one wee rescue mutt;-)
Hi again ABers. Took J to a different vet today as he's not getting any better. Nice lady vet questioned me for half an hour before discussing with other vets. I liked the fact that she did that. She said they need to rehydrate him first of all. This if the 3rd time he's had this done since Saturday lunchtime. The most interesting thing she said was that he showed the most distress when they touched his tummy from the middle to the rear. I think this could mean it actually is Pancreatitis! I should hear from them before closing time whether they will release him today or keep him in overnight.
Thank you so much LiK. Although he hadn't been to today's vets before I'm sure he knew it was a vets practice as I had to drag him in. When we went into the consultation room I sat down and he immediately got underneath the chair and behind my legs. Didn't save him though. He was looking back over his shoulder as he was led away:-(
No I don't AA. The reason I don't is because with my first dog I took out insurance and I paid it every month for the 10 years of his life and never claimed a penny. I think it was Which magazine that advised better to open a bank account for your pooch and put an amount in you can afford every month. I wish I'd done that.

I hope he improves soon LB. Although its a lot of dosh we wouldn't begrudge one penny.
Our Golden recently developed a "hot spot". After numerous treatment including emergency vets (mega dear) it was finally cured. He was fully insured with Pet Plan. Guess what, they refused to pay anything at all. My opinion of pet insurers is now not printable
