Allergy sticky ears in dog

Hi there. My two year old Weimaraner GSP cross boy has being diagnosed will allergy problems. The main symptom is inflamed ears which then become dirty and sticky. We are working with the vet who is excellent but the steroid tablets which helped at first have stopped being effective at a dose which is acceptable in terms of side effects for the dog. The next stage is to try a topical steroid spray which we will start on monday. We have cleaned up his diet which has helped a lot but not solved the problem. We have also tried
Canaural drops (the thick yellow ones)
Thornit powder
We currently use ear cleaning solution made from boracic and lactic acid to clean his ears (at vets suggestion) plus the steroid tabs and evening primrose oil capsules, again at vet's suggestion.
has anyone else had experience of this and can you make any suggestions please?
He has bare, not hairy ear canals and is as good as gold about the twice daily cleaning and treatment.

My odd job man came today and we discussed all the things I need done. He's going to phone and fix a date after Sis has visited.

My nephew is on immediate leave and having intensive therapy for a nasal lymphoma ,he only saw the docs today, had blood/bone marrow sampling (no results as yet) and waiting for an MRI and PET CT. Fingers crossed.

Robi if Mr N wants to get romantic after removing thick bedsocks, winter pjs, a vest and wristwarmers, then he's welcome.

Been to Ibiza on the bus and saw a lovely bright red sleeveless dress with a huge cowell neckline (obviously material underneath) very smart and am thinking of it for the wedding. Will go in again with decent undies, tights and high heels to try it on. What is happening to me, a red dress, I don't do red and I don't do dresses, it's this disgraceful year that I am having. Am going to have gel nails and hair extentions to bring hair to chin length. It will be tastefully done, never fear!

patio men are FINISHED!!!! They have made a lovely job and i looks brilliant BUT the rest of the garden looks poo by comparison. I think this has to be the summer of getting the garden straight. Dogs are having a tear around and I am sitting here in the cold giving the living room a bit of an air out. I go out to pick up Sis in about 10 mins so laters all.

Hello Everybiddy. First things first. Just had a chat with Lottie and I have to tell you she is fine but her PC isn't so she is waiting for it to be sorted and will be back as soon as it is.
I really hope your nephew gets through his treatment alright Neti such a worry for everyone.
Robi hope you have a goodnight tonight with no 'interference' from the moon. To be honest I don't understand what it can or does do.
I also hope the rest of you are alright and the weather isn't too bad for you. I have been to Tai Chi and had a lovely lunch Somerset Brie tart in cheesy pastry with new potatos and and salad. Then I parked my car at home and caught the bus to town to go to the Orange shop. Sorted in a half hour chat with 2 great young ladies who weren't a bit patronising with me being old and all that.

Hi Vinny good to hear from you and loved the Video. I have to admit I never did see the film but I bet it was a good one. Perhaps I'll treat myself to the DVD one day.
