Has anyone had a Meerkat as a pet?? Is it pretty much the same as looking after a normal cat??

I think they look more like ferrets.
They're wild animals, not domestic !
It`s simples
Meerkats are ppart of the mongoose family - nothing to do with cats!

Meerkats are not a variety of cat, it is a type of mongoose. Meerkats live in very large groups, and need to burrow. It would be cruel to keep one as a pet.
You would need to feed it lizards, rodents and insects as well as a bit of vegetation.
... presumably then Androcles it's much the same as looking after a goose --- only joking -- LOL

this has to be a wind up - wild animals as pets?? I think not. And taking a captive bred is encouraging a dreadfully cruel trade. No, this has to be a wind up - I hope

Yeahhh....it was an early April fool question but I was hoping for more angry contributions, people totally insensed at the thought....but no. Anyway, can't stop I need to get a cheap insurance quote for my car.
