Shrieking pet birds in neighbors garden

This morning i was woken up at the crack of dawn by a weird screaming sound and on further investigation i noticed that the neighbor had a flock of roughly 7 peacocks strutting around her garden making a loud noise which maybe okay in a kenyan safari park but is totally out of character for a detached house in watford. My cat was nearly attacked in her garden by the gang of birds and has now came in an is refusing to leave the couch.
This afternoon she was seen walking down the street with leads around their necks and everyone had top cross over the other side as people were obviously scared at her menagerie of shrieking birds and what's more is that the birds fouled the pavement on several occasions and she didn't clear the mess up even though she walked back on the same side passing her birds mess.
I never even knew peacocks were allowed as pets so is this legal, do these birds carry any diseases that we the public should be worried about and if this noise continues in the mornings or indeed night or if my cat is attacked who should i call?

My cat goes to the loo in my neighbours garden as well as my own. I have offered to buy them cat deterents (which they refused) and they are quite welcome to spray water at him if they catch the little bugger at it.
wonder if they own a shop

Shish taouk (Arabic: شيش طاووق‎,Turkish: Tavuk şiş(kebabı),Azerbaijani: Toyuq kababı )
is a traditional Arabic and Turkish shish kebab, which can also be found in Syrian,
Egyptian, Iraqi and Lebanese cuisines, but is made in kabab houses in many cities
around the world. A similar dish in Persian cuisine is the traditional jujeh kabab.

Cubes of chicken are skewered and grilled. Common marinades are based upon
yogurt or a tomato puree, though there are many variations.
Shish taouk is typically eaten with garlic paste toum.

Shish means skewer in Turkish (it has been adopted in Lebanese-Arabic and
Syrian-Arabic dialects, although seekh is the word for skewer in classical Arabic);
and taouk or tavuk (pronounced "tah-wouk") means chicken in Turkish.
Tawook can refer to other kinds of poultry, e.g., peacock
(Tawouk/Tauwos in Arabic طاووس).

Apologies, jan1ne, just read that your cat doesn't use their garden as a toilet... just as a shortcut.

Maybe you should just have a quiet word. Tell it to go the long way round.. ?

Fliptheswitch, do you and others usually make up nuggets of information to fuel your anti cat stance? Where did i say my cat poos in the neighbors garden? Ill tell you where , no where. Please lets gather the correct facts before conversing with others during a debate to avoid further embarrassment.
As a cat owner and a bird owner perhaps I can comment.

The birds carry no more diseases than any other bird (indeed, redmite can be passed from garden birds to domestic fowl). Unless there are covenants preventing the keeping of fowl, there is nothing you can do to stop her. As for shreiking, you want to hear what my girls do when either a) one lays an egg or b) I shut them in the coop so I can do some gardening.

I actually fancy a couple of peafowl but I think my OH may throw me, my girls and my cat out if I turn up with more feathered stuff.

If your cat is attacked, it is your cat's fault for being so daft as to go near them. However, in my experience fowl will "issue a warning shot" and chase said moggy rather than an out and out attack.

Apology accepted fliptheswitch.
How many goats would he have to get though? There's two against one there... and his neighbor has SEVEN!!

Oh dear this is priceless. AB at its best. Naz, pick on someone your own size - it's painful:-) LOL
No, fourteen. He'd need fourteen.

Is your garden big enough, jan1ne?

Actually, I was just thinking, your gardens must be pretty big. Peacocks need lots of open space, don't they?
Goose pooh is a constant nuisance here, very slippery underfoot.
awesome

i think you should collect the tail feathers and make a hat

Fliptheswith you're doing it again by not understanding the facts and asking questions based on this lack of knowledge, the peacocks are in my NEIGHBORS garden NOT my garden. Although my garden is pretty sizable but this isn't the point.
sweep it up when dry and put it round your flowerbeds Mamya....
might be interesting when they pop across into neightbours gardens or sit on their roof... I believe peacock tastes like guinea fowl... might be a change from turkey.... I think there are a few on here would try to lure them across...
I have to deal with goose poo, swan poo, coot poo, moorhen poo, chicken poo. In fact I spend my life surrounded by POO!!!!!!

Tbh Jan1ne your cat will soon learn not to go near the peafowl. Just like the cat from two doors down learned that if it Joy-sticks around with Marge (my big girlie bird) it's likely to come off far far worse..........

Feast on roast peacock for a week. Save the goat stew until next week.
Problem solved.
i only have to deal wtih cat poo, it seems i'm lucky
