Petition to change law for cats
122 Answers
It is 2am so I am unable to write a coherent chunk of text.
The following link explains what changes are needed to make motorists obligated to report hitting a cat on the road.

If this is something that you think is a good idea this petition is up and running

I know that some local authorities scan dead cats to see if there is a microchip which will indicate the name and address of the cat and its staff - but many don't. Maybe that is something else that could be considered.

I tried getting my two to play fetch - but they just looked at me as if I was nuts.
hc - realisticall y I can't see the new law being implemented, but to have a pet go missing presumed dead is a horrible experience.

i had the cat litter trays (3) in the kitchen near the door, most people have them in the kitchen near the door
if they are outside and want to have a crap they can nip back in use the tray and then go back out again to play
it would seem that what ever the cat person slave does is wrong, if i let them crap in another persons garden they moan if i have the litter trays in my house they moan

I could never work out why you had to report hitting a dog to the Police but not to a vet. The police would just take your details, maybe for the insurance to get your new bumper. A vet may be able to save the animal or at least make it's passing less painful.
Over the years I've hit three cats and stopped and checked them all. Two were killed stone dead immediately or before I returned but the one who survived did so because I found the owner and they got their vet out pdq.

I have seen a friend's cat eat its dinner on a kitchen worktop, proceed to elaborately lick its anus and then the owner go and give the cat great big kisses on the mouth.
Its as though people lose their minds when their cats are near.
Animals should crap outside - it is disgusting and dirty to allow an animal to crap in the kitchen.
If my dog ever crapped in the house I'd be furious.

Since we lost Rover, our vet has invested in a GPS collar for his own cat - the cat doesn't seem to mind, but it does appear a hefty amount of stuff to wear around her neck. He can track her wherever she goes. I wish we'd had that option with Rover :-( (not that he would wear a collar these days, he hung himself regularly on branches etc which is why we had them chipped in the first place and took the collars off). I look forward to the day when the microchip contains a GPS responder.
I lost my Fizzy to a hit and run - a kind neighbour took her body to the vet, otherwise I would never have known, she was a couple of miles away from home. I'll sign.

>> In our house, the smokers are out in the garden (weather or not) <<
in my property people who moan are out in street (weather or not)
hc4361 out of your list the only two places possible are ( in the living room, in the smoking cat owner's bedroom, )
now if the lad had been eating whiskers and he dumped a smelly one i don't think i would like to smell that all night while trying to sleep
other than the kitchen i only have 1 one long room downstairs which is where i eat my food so the same problem would apply
after feeding the cats i could then eat
if one dumped a real stinker i would
a, have to remove smelly pooh before meal and meal would go cold
b, sit and eat meal with a big smelly dump on litter tray stinking the lower ground out

i have seen a barmaid take her bit on the side upstairs in the pub ( this was a regular thing ) i have then seen the barmaid give a welcome kiss to some other friends

it's as though some people lose their mind when they see a nice top rack and a pretty face
next time you give someone human a kiss ask yourself where his tongue has been

I am happy living with my cat and dog and admit to not being hygienically squeaky clean. Cat does get on worktop and dog sleeps on bed and they get kisses. I am still alive. I have never caught anything from my pets, I have caught plenty of bugs from fellow humans!!!
I am glad I live in a house with cats and dogs and no rigid rules to worry about.
