A post on another question just made me think of this.
Why do you never see dead birds (apart from the remains of those ravaged by hungry cats)?
Surely the sight of a of bird that's popped it's cloggs mid flight should be common but I don't think I've ever seen a dead bird....

Is that a grouse that you are having, heathfield? We get quite a few folk mowing them down in the lanes around here, a second car behind doing the collection.
Where do birds go during Hurricanes then? Actually, the answer is that they pick up on the approaching storm and will see it out by going for the bottom of hedges for their protection.
