The Alnmouth to Warkworth beaches in Northumberland have been laced with poison and 3 dogs have died today. The police are involved and have "locked down" the beach to dog walkers.
Stay away if you're in the area. There are some sick people out there.
That is a really nasty cowardly thing to do, i know there are people out there that don't like dogs but how would they like it if their partners or children suffered the same fate because of some other deviants action?
There do seem to be some very sick 'urban myth' stories of this type floating around on facebook and similar sites - the story stays the same, but the names of the beaches change ...
... sorry, that may have looked as though I was getting at chrissa, who I'm sure was merely passing on in good faith what looked like a serious story - not my intention at all ...
I don't know about the news. I was told by a gentleman who lives opposite to me and so knew I had dogs and drove off in the car each day to walk them. His father's dog was on the beach this morning and got to the vet just in time after "fitting". The dog is ok, but 3 others didn't get to their vets quick enough.
Up in the sticks here, it'll probably make it into The Northumberland Gazette around about Easter.
Guys. Just because it hasn't made it on to the web doesn't mean it's not true.
A friend of mine was on the beach with her dogs this morning and saw it all happening.
Wish this was an urban myth. In the Scarborough area it has happened in two different locations.
A lot of people get cross about careless dog owners letting theit animals foul etc. and occasionally some unhinged character gets the notion to put down poison.
We've had several cases here in Notts, around the Sherwood Pines area, over the last couple of yearswith quite a few dogs dying. Been widely reported and investigated but nobody has been caught yet
