If you eliminate the resident population and there remains a food source and shelter then more will move in....

Grey squirrels make a good pie, but you need five or so for a decent serving. Shooting means you know exactly who you'll pt, but pellets can be a problem in meat. Trapping is fine but you never know who you'll trap for sure and you'd never forgive yourself for trapping Mr Tumnus.

Cut all the trees down. Leave them alone and nature sorts things out better than man ever can.
