In the grand scheme of things, what's a little cat poo. Brought up three children and 4 grandchildren with my four cats - nobody suffered any ill effects whatsoever. Live and let live.
wee is different - that's marking their territory. My cats are sufficiently contrary to sit outside in the garden all day, then come indoors to poo in their litter trays.... but they wee in our garden only, whereever takes their fancy. Including the porch :-(
boxtops I totally agree cats bury their poo. There are other things that can poo on your garden you can't always blame a cat.
Lol box we have a party when tatty goes outside as it's such a rare occurrence
Cats dont always bury their poo..fact.

I repeat ClaryS and Boxtops Cats do not always cover thier poo,I have watched them poo at the base of my dwarf fruit trees which are planted in a patio area. Yes they do start kicking back in an attempt to bury their poo however often all they do is throw soil over the patio and completely miss the poo.
" Cats bury their poo - if it's lying on the lawn, it's not a cat. "
Really ? That black and white moggy next door must be a figment of my imagination then .I 've actually watched the cheeky b do it on my lawn and then wander off .
I see it most mornings ,slinking past with a bird in it's chops .Then it seems to invite all it's friends round for a poop fest :)
I can't stand cats .. I wouldn't hurt them but I can understand how people get fed up with this .I've tramped it indoors too ..Bleugh ..it stinks .
If I still had a dog and took it to poop on other peoples property they would soon see red .
Hmmm shaney, that must be a rogue crapper, then ....
Yes the cat walked on a lead in the garden and yes it caught mice in the house .I can't see why one would exclude the other. No the presence of a cat does not deter mice, unless mouse tails get into the house by themselves. If we had let the cat out he would have been squashed within a week.
maggiebee - children under 2 are at risk of catching toxoplasmosis from cat poo ...

aside from that its just not very nice to have to pick it up all the time

i realise its not worth worrying too much about, but its still not wise to let them play amongst it
We have three very likeable cats next door to us, but they become unlikeable when we see them jump out of what we call our sparrow bush, to attack the sparrows that are feeding on their perches.
Y/day was another day that one of the cats, jumped on the railings while on his way out, with a sparrow in his mouth. Yes, i was foaming from the mouth!
Dontcha just love them --not.
Why did I know that this thread would involve a few ding-dongs before I read it?

chessington, have you approached the neighbour about this problem? They may not be aware that their cats are causing a problem. Cat owners are like dog owners ... a good portion are responsible people, however, there are always a few that feel that it is the 'victim's' responsibility to solve their problem pet's behaviour. Even if a cat is not tray trained, it will prefer to use a nice dry patch of sand that the owner has made for them in the corner of the garden.
