Cat Home Alone

I am just booked a three night break away, the problem is all the catteries are booked up and I don't have anyone to take care of my cat. My dilemma is do I leave him at home and leave a big bag of dry food out, would he be OK?

3 nights 3 litter trays 3 bowls of fresh food 3 bowls of dried food 3 bowls of fresh water The cat will be ok but don't expect purrs when you come back.

If I am out for a night and back the following morning I feed my mogs a little extra but if I am away for 2 nights or more I have a cat sitter come in each day they feed and water them - sort the kitty tray out and play with them.
I also leave the radio on.
The reason Wharton has been given best answer is because his answer meets the OP's viewpoint!

As to needing help about the cat question, no. If you read my post again you'll see I suggested to Jayne that the cat would be unhappy.
What I do know is that Jayne will be stressed when she reads some of the knee-jerk replies from people who clearly know nothing about cats.

Strangely enough, our cats drink a lot of stale water - from buckets and lids in the garden, anywhere they can find it. They don't like it fresh from the tap.
However - 3 days? - no. Overnight, yes, but no longer. I would have sorted out the arrangements for the cats before I booked my holiday.
I see Jayne's not responded - Jayne - no neighbours who can look in on your cat? poor thing will be lonely and worried that you're not coming back....
