The sorting is ALMOST done...or at least as far as I can until I can put the tortoises outside and put the spare room back together, and get up in the attic to pull the junk out of there. I can get up in there easily but its much easier when my sis is here as I just lower things down (or haul them up) in a big ikea bag on a rope.
Morning all
Straggler, or should I say struggler, reporting for duty but nothing of interest to report really just fed up with still being stuck here like a couple of birds in a cage, surrounded by scaffolding.
They've done all the roof line ,soffits, pipes and guttering but no tiles have actually been put on the roof. They are still sitting on the drive .The excuse is staff shortage and they can't get any subcontracters, or the ones they can get are all busy, so it's more waiting around.
That is my tale of woe but on the other hand the weather has been glorious and we've had wall to wall sunshine and springlike temps.
Nice to get the washing dry outside and have a sit in the sun.
I see you've been been busy Woofy.I'll be glad when all this work is done so I can do a bit of sorting out.I have things that need to go into the loft once it's watertight.
The good news is that my brother won't have to have his eye removed and it's not cancerous. My nephew took him to Moorefields and they say it's been caused by UV radiation and has grown very slowly over many years. In view of the fact he was apprenticed as a welder when he left school and having done welding on and off over the the years as a hobby, making gates etc, that could have played a part. He's got to go for six monthly checks up from now on just to be on the safe side.
Hope your teeth are behaving Jno and big waves to Neti and Robinia.

oh, that's good news, shaney.
My teeth are grinding on ... OH has had a sort of all clear from the surgical people, but not entirely - there's a big bulge in the tummy (like half of it) where things didn't heal as well as they might and caused some sort of hernia. This is apparently inoperable so it's off to M&S for some tight underwear to ensure it stays in place. The GP says it's not bad enough to need full surgical gear, so that's something. OH is gloomily resigned to it all.

Glorious day here. Hija3 actually got up early and we sorted her broken medical card ( I was worried as she hasn't worked legally for 5 months and it only last 3 after last health payment , not like UK) but my mate Paco was on duty so a few smiles and a chat and all sorted with no problem! Deep joy! We went for a long walk ( long for me that is) and fed the ducks then saw a notice saying do not feed the ducks! We slunk away! Found a big packet in garden and it was my hair colour from ebay . The postman had chucked it over the locked gate. I dont mind and it saves me queuing up at PO. Hija cooking dinner. Mr N wont eat it although he likes rollmops!
I have just switched energy suppliers and saved £500, so that's good. I got a letter from Eon, obviously with a gun to their head, saying "You could save £400 by switching to EDF". So I rang the Office For Switching or whatever it's called, and the man there said First Utility would save even more, so I told him to do it. I just have to sign a direct debit form when they send it, which we were planning to do anyway.
well worth it for us, woofgang. I don't know how it works - it's the first time I've ever had a letter telling me someone else could do it more cheaply, so I hadn't thought of it before; but it contained all the instructions and the man on the phone did it all for me. There's the usual cooling off period.

these are the actual people the letter referred us to

but there was a special phone number because Eon had negotiated a special rate with EDF, though in the end First Utility worked out cheaper still.

We have a smart meter didn't get a choice.
Clouds of pollen here now and I think Oust be allergic as nose is streaming and I am sneezing. Most unpleasant. Patio is covered in yellow and it's impossible to sweep as it just drifts in clouds to another area
All dried washing as to be shaken to get rid of it. Hija went out Saturday night and hasn't come home yet, she's ok and she always let's me know!
She went to a car boot on Saturday and sold all my stuff and not much of hers so will be raiding my wardrobe again this week.
