I don't know if that question is meant for me or lb, but I'll answer. We treat all animals abhorrently all the time for allsorts of reasons, but this thread is about the dogs in China. Start your own thread if you care so much about seafood !

I don't want to start a thread about it. Just saying that it's not just dogs in China that are poorly treated.

At what point do you stop campaigning?

btw...I eat meat and seafood and turn a blind eye to the cruel treatment.

There are groups the world over campaigning about any and every cruelty by humans to the creatures that share our planet, (lobsters included) but this post is not about those as I thought was clear.

I have no problem with them eating dogs but I do object to the way the dogs are treated before and during the slaughter.

I have to say I don't understand people who won't sign becasue they will 'get emails'!! Dogs will be boiled alive, have their paws cut off whilst alive, blow torched while alive etc etc etc, BUT they will 'get emails' - the mind boggles !!!

Like I said earlier, I abhor the practice, but a petition from the UK, regardless of how many signed it will have no affect whatsoever on what amounts to a Local Authority in China, and a traditional event attended by thousands.
Sadly it's part of their Culture and it's going to be very hard to change it.
