Cat Proofing A Blue Tit Box

I have CCTV and have found that my neighbour's cat has taken to sitting below my blue tit box for long periods just looking at it. I thought last year that the box had been attacked as it went 'wonky' but the birds did carry on going in and out and hopefully managed to rear their brood.
I wondered whether wire netting might be put round the box to safeguard it unless you clever people have got any other suggestions please.

What, exactly, is your blue tit box fastened to? A tree, a pole, or something else?

It's on a brick wall under the eaves of my bungalow.
Hopefully it might be just out of reach from the cat.
I had a look on Google and there is a wealth of determinants and repellents on there, you may find useful.
good luck.
ps the mesh might cause entanglement.

Chipchopper thank you for the reply. I think it did manage to jump up to the box last year, and someone said that cats can jump remarkably high. I thought about the birds getting tangled in the netting but if it’s quite big holes then they should be all right?
