Done my first cut of the season today, it was lovely and mild, and I also saw a Brimstone butterfly, and a large bumblebee, both on the search for nectar.
Hope they're the first of many, to come.

Oooh lucky you. Still far too cold up here, although I think another 2/3 weeks should do it.
I did my first mow here in Norfolk, but just to take the top off it before i lower the cut next time.
cut mine 2 days ago, saw a tired looking bumble bee gave it some sugar water ten mins later it flew off.
My daughter picked up a yellow-tailed Bumblebee which was flat out on the slabs at the front of our flats. We put it onto our beautiful Daphne and it immediately started feeding. I think it will struggle to survive once it leaves as I don't see a bee corridor for it.
Mowing/cutting grass?!!! Up to my knees in standing water here!
Can I report those posting about mowing grass for cruelty to the water logged?
I've seen two bees, but no butterflies yet. I feel sorry for them as it's not warm enough just now.
