Big Beetle For Id

I spotted a large beetle in my garden today (Bigger than a bumble bee) Which glowed irridecent colours, from green to gold.

Can anyone identify it, as I've not looked it up yet ?

Never seen one befor, but it looked more like something you might see in north Africa rather than the UK.

I have seen irridescent greenish gold Rosemary Beetles here

Also have a look at the Rose Chafer beetle which is quite big (20 mm)

Wow! Extraordinary colours! Don't think I've ever seen one..

Prudie, I have also seen the Rose chafer on the Choisya plant .

No chance of a photo I'm afraid, it was in flight.

I've since had a rummage on Google, and tonight's star prize go's to Prudie with rose chafer beetle, thank you.
