Ugh, do humans have anal glands the same as a dog???? and if so how do we scratch them and empty them. The reason I ask I posted a message regarding my "bum surfing" dog earlier and was told that his anal glands needed emptying. Well what about us?? and if we have what do we do Do you bum surf??

Humans do not have the anal glands or sacs that dogs and many other mammal have. Apparently we never found it necessary to mark our territory... (besides, many people report that hemorrhoids are bad enough).

I remember taking my first dog to the vet to get his anal glands emptied. I had no idea what they were.

The vet squeezed them and all this horrible gunk exploded backwards hitting the vet on his nice white coat.

My dog looked very relieved and the vet very unhappy.

After that I used to empty them myself. A horrible task, but if done regularly they are not too 'explosive'.

Maybe hemorrhoids really are human anal glands! :-)

Ugh you do them yourelf, well I suppose it stops a trip to the vet. How do you know you have found them and its not something else or could be dangerous?

Pickles (my dog) did have a problem with them one night and the smell was vile to say the least!!

what a stupid, pointless and puerile question to ask! of course we dont you gimp, dogs have dissimilar behaviour to humans, they sniff other dog's bums, they urinate up lamposts and trees... WE DON'T ! ! ! GET A GRIP ON REALITY ALIEN CHESTNUT :-)
