how long does it usually take for a silver shark to grow upto it's full lenth?

Depends on several factors.....what and how much you feed, size of aquarium and water temperature.

Generally speaking, if kept in a 6' aquarium, fed on a wide range of high protein food and kept at around 78 degrees, you'd be talking of a couple of years until it got to 8-9"
