Our family scotty dog, Ellen, was taken into the vet for tests this morning after not eating for a few days. The vet called us early this afternoon to say she had kidney failure and nothing could be done to help her. She died in my arms at 2.30 this afternoon :'(

So very sorry to hear that, Lakitu.

:o(

Oh Lakitu, what can I say? I'm so sorry to hear this - I lost my beloved westie several years ago when he was 16 and I was devastated. I still miss him-he used to lie at my feet of an evening and I still "step over him" when I rise from my chair!
Sorry to hear your bad news, I hope your memories will soon be happy ones.
So sorry for your sad loss Lakitu, she will always leave paw prints on your heart. At least you were with her to the end.Happy memories will soon come back to the happy times together..g.

Like scotgal( with her stepping over ) I still eat at the table sideways in spite of my old boy being gone for over a year .He was such a big old boy he took up all the room under the table!

The one best place to bury a good dog is in the heart of his master.xx
Dear Lakitu - i am so sorry to hear about your wee scotty dog. My heart goes out to you. With much love xxxx
So sorry to hear your news lakitu. It is always such a sad time when a much loved pet dies but you were with her at the end and I'm sure she knew how much she was loved.
((((((hugs)))))) XX
So sorry Lakitu. But you were with her till the end and that's something I couldn't do for my gorgeous Smidge (cat).

When the vet told me she had to be put down I was so upset I couldn't think straight. She'd been with me for 17 years and when the vet asked if I wanted to stay with her I just said no. Couldn't bear the thought of seeing her die. I'm crying as I type this because I so regret that I didn't stay with her. Wish I had.

Thank you very much everyone, your words are helping me. xx

Firetracie, please don't beat yourself up about not wanting to be there when they gave her the injection, my Dad was with me at the vet and he couldn't be in the room when Ellen was given the injection either. My Dad held her tight hug and gave her kisses as she got drowsy with the sedative first and told her he loved her, I'm sure you did too and that's what counts, she knew. xxx
Better a day too soon than a minute too late. Think of all the good times, and be glad you were able to do this last act of love for her.

Thank you, Lankeela.
Oh I'm so sorry for your loss, Lak. I'm sure it was the best thing to do for your precious bundle, even if it must hurt so much. She had a great life filled with happiness and love, and I'm sure she knew her time had come and loved you all till the end. They have a far better instinct for those things than us mere humans. She is in doggie heaven having loads of fun now, bless. xxx

Thank you notafish and herbie xx
Lakitu,
I am so sorry to hear about Ellen.
You did the kindest thing an owner can do for a pet.
You were there at the end and held her until she fell asleep and crossed over to Rainbow Bridge.
Your face was the one she saw for the last time.
Run free Ellen. xxxx
