what bird?

on my way, to and from school, i go across a field and i often see these cute little birds.
They are the same size and roughly the same colour as sparrows, which i first thought they were. But on closer inspection, i saw that they are slightly speckled white and have pointier wings and tails than sparrows, Any ideas what they are?
