I've heard far more crickets than usual in the wildlife areas around our local lake.
However, for me, the significant increase in wildlife this year has been in the population of hares. Most summers I would expect to spot just a few hares in the fields as I drove along Suffolk's country roads. A couple of weeks ago I had to drive between a few villages and I had to brake every few hundred years to avoid a kamikaze hare (and there were dozens more to be seen in the adjacent fields). In some areas there now seem to be more hares than rabbits.
