Why do I only see one Pied Wagtail at any one time? I have never seen two. He (she) has recently been brave enough to come into my garden whereas before he was always on the field I overlook.
Also, where do they nest? Boxes?

Pied Wagtails build their nest in holes in walls, buildings, or old nests of larger birds. Grass and mosses are used to construct the small cup-shaped nest.

They will use open-fronted nest boxes.
I've not often seen more than one ... maybe they're very territorial?

Thanks very much Naz
Pied wagtails do appear to be solitary birds. However, they will roost together in large numbers. I do not know if it is now the case but there were hundreds of them that roosted in the trees in O'Connel Street, Dublin.
