It's back tonight on BBC2 at 8pm. Compulsive viewing.
Take a look at the 4 live Webcams on the Link ! Excellent.
I think it's on for the next 3 weeks.

I think what I miss most bensmum is the fact that they only have 1 Unsprung Programme per week. They should have one every night to follow Springwatch !
There's enough Wildlife at Ynis Hir to occupy several Programmes, but they are jumping about to different areas instead. I did enjoy Iolo Williams last night though.

I have messaged Springwatch Team regarding the Pied Flycatchers, out of 6 Eggs only 4 hatched but 2 Chicks have since died. When they start to decompose, the Nest will prove a real hazard for the remaining 2 Chicks and they may not survive.
Unfortunately there is a policy of non intervention...showing nature for good or ill...its not always good to watch though
woooooooohooooooooooo
I love eider duck

Good Prog tonight and I agree about the Eider Ducks Rowan, beautiful Birds.
Along with the Short Eared Owl and it's nest, the Eiders were tops.
I am still watching the Webcams and Flycatchers are still hanging on.
The Eider Ducks were absolutly lovely, as was the Short Eard Owls.

Unsprung tomorrow yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhh
Say eiders at the london wetland centre couldn't believe the noises sounded like a conversation between frankie howerd and kenneth williams.. I just cracked up listening to them...but such stunning birds..... anyone who goes to london and likes birds should spend a day there its brilliant

Sad news about the Pied Flycatchers, the last 2 chicks died during the night. Another failed brood, Nature can be very 'cruel' at times. Such lovely Birds as well.
7.30pm start for Springwatch tonight as it's followed by Unsprung which I enjoy.
Hope they keep us up to date with the Ospreys.
Barn Owls and Herons on Webcams are quite comical if anyone is following them.
I had doubts last night that the pied flycatcher chicks would survive - they did look weak. It is very sad as they are such lovely little birds but that's how nature works I suppose. Looking forward to Unsprung tonight too
Martin had his glasses back... and he's in his leathers tomorrow.... shame he has to take the Packham with him shame about the pied flys though but the Hawfinches were brilliant I'd not realised how big they were or that puffins are only about the size of a blackbird I'd always imagined them bigger
I've only ever seen one Hawfinch in my life and that was in the grounds at Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey. Such a handsome-looking bird.
Yes, sad about the Flycatchers, but I think I was expecting it :(

Oi Rowan, leave Chris alone, he may look very cute in leathers, and where's my train ticket, though I'll need a ferry ticket too:)
I hadn't realised that hawfinches were that big either, would love to see one. I was amazed at the size of the young buzzard already - such a change.
We had a flock of starlings in the field behind the house yesterday afternoon - something I haven't seen here in a few years.

what do you expect from a poodle man....

Nice Eider Avatar Rowan, very apt !
I don't have any problems with Springwatch Presenters as all three including Iolo Williams are very knowledgeable Naturalists.
Chris Packham is Vice President of RSPB and Kate Humble is the President.
Martin Hughes-Games is a Producer of Wildlife Progs.
Apart from reverting to Blue Peter type speak sometimes, I find them OK.
Programme is great !
Redman,I saw a little of SW last night whenthey were showing the heron chicks and that reminded me that when I was over at a pals house in MB the other day there were 2 herons on the field behind the library in Wood St - i'm sure one was an adult and the other a chick. Don't know if you've seen them?
Although I love the programme,I agree with redman.
At times, they seem to think they are talking to a 9year old primary school class.
Question Author
Missed the Herons WY, plenty of them around here as there is a Heronry on the banks of the Straits.
There is used to be a Mallard who nested in the Woods opposite the Library every Year, problem was she had to take the Ducklings across busy road down to the Sea.
Didn't realise their was a heronry there, whereabouts on he straits?
