Have had a huge flock of redwings in the fields here this morning, my question is are they leaving or arriving?

Only saw one fieldfare here last October and no redwings at all.

arriving they are a winter visitor usually from Scandinavia and northern europe
I guess, how ever bad we think the weather is here, it's a lot milder than the weather they have just left behind for the winter
They're possibly the 1st migrants to arrive. I've seen & heard them in September.
I've not seen any yet (N. Yorks). They seem very late to me.

Another flock arrived here (W Yorks) on Sunday afternoon, didn't stay long though.
