Fieldfares

Yesterday, in my local park, I watched a small flock of fieldfares eating rowan berries .
Are they back early or haven't they left yet?

It's Not unusual for a few Redwings and Fieldfare to arrive in August but the majority fly-in towards the end of September and beginning of October. I think the Redwings are prettier than other Thrushes.

Have not heard of Fieldfares before so had to google - lovely birds, we must be too far north to see them. Happy to report though that we have spotted Nuthatches in the garden for the first time ever this year. (Again, a bird that I'd never seen or heard of prior to spring this year, but a quick google and look at the RSPB site confirmed).
