Why not have a category for well proven tips to share on this site? I always turn to the tips pages in my usual magazine - I know they are very popular.

Heres my tip.
When buying expensive veg, like mushrooms and leeks etc, go to the self service till and weigh them in as onions or potatoes :-)
That's theft, trt.

Good idea, Ann.
I suggested that once, and almost everyone said, well its usually covered in other categories, and think that you would have to trawl back pages to find the one you want.. if you see what i mean
because this is a question and answer site

as much as i like toptips...this is not a top tips site...

posts should be made either as a question or in response to one - not just random bits of information...
It's gone beyond a Q&A site though, with Chatterbank.
Posts in Body and Soul are often not questions requiring answers, more pleas for reassurance and affirmation.
News is convenient place for a monologue rant from the Disgruntled of Denbighs .

AnswerBank has evolved in to a community site.

but potatoes are heavier than mushrooms
sell your car 6 months before it starts playing up
crisgal, yes but how many mushrooms can you get for the weight of one potato ? :-)
3?
-- answer removed --
ok, so 3 mushrooms for the price of one potato and potatoes are cheaper than mushrooms.

You are on a winner :-)

I would have said about 8 mushrooms actually!
i was meaning mahoosive ones!
With my luck I'd get caught.
I know a lady who snaps off the brocolli stalk before weighing it!
So was I :) xx
what? You reckon you'd get field mushrooms to one potato??
I need to check this out.......

I haven't got any :(
yes a mahoosive potato though and probably covered in mud!!
My tip is don't
"but potatoes are heavier than mushrooms"

LOL... so my tip would be... pay attention in your maths classes.
Driving towards a red light sufficiently fast will cause the 'blue shift' effect, thus making the red appear green, so allowing you to drive straight through...
I'm sure that's a Viz one!
