Rate questions and answers

I think you should follow in the path of other sites and allow rating of questions and answers, and answers to answers etc.

AB used to have a 'star rating' system for answers but it relied upon a system which could give rise to browser security concerns. (At least, I believe that's why it no longer exists. It disappeared around the same time as we lost the ability to use bold or italic text).

We currently have 'Mark as best answer' available for questioners to use but, somewhat irritatingly, it doesn't currently do anything on individual threads. However it does permit the Editor to compile a 'league table' of the top five people in the rankings.

As far as I'm aware, the Ed hasn't updated the figures since the table was last published on 12th October, as follows:

Very interesting Chris.......From my point of view, it is a good thing that there is not a button for the 'worst answer'. Dread to think where I would come in such a table.

well this is my sour grapes answer - I don't see the point, people will just vote for their friends as usual. Although credit to those in the best answer league, the top 2 at least are crossword answers which are right as opposed to best.

Ok, now I know 'Mark as best answer' actually does something I might start using it. Thanks Chris.
