I dont know if you have realised yet, but we have lost a valuable member of our group as a result of some upsetting comments made by another member in haste.  Can anything be done about this.

Thanks bruce5755

Having read through the post, it looks a little 6 of one / half dozen of the other. It seems the young lady in question is innocently using AB as more of a chat room, and the other party tried to point out that her post was unnecessary and pointless, and the whole thing rapidly degenerated into a slanging match (quite an entertaining one at that!)

It will never stop as people will always differ in their opinions.

However, I do sometimes wonder if it would be a better idea for the AB editor to scrutinise each post before it is allowed on the site. I realise this would take an awful amount of time and slow things down, but if you look at the BBC website for example, comments from members of the public are not posted until they are thoroughly vetted.

The don't know each other by the way.  Well, not as far as I know!

The individual scrutiny idea has some merit BDW, but I suspect it won't be welcomed by many users, or found practical by ABE.  I like your thinking though - and you're right about the bbc.  altohugh I'm still sulking with them for not posting my thoughts on the Very Hungry Caterpillar!!! :-p

I think CB is still working, at a reduced volume. The site of course wants a good hit rate for its advertisers which chatroom-type activity will surely help, but I don't see it falling in world ratings. I use the Netcraft toolbar and at the moment AB is at 15343 in the world charts. I think it was in the 18000s a few weeks ago. I'll certainly keep a closer eye on it now. Inevitably google, yahoo, and microsoft are at the top, but our good old BBC is at no. 9 (news) and no. 23
I notice that very few people stuck up for In A Pickle(who has also left)when he was persecuted(over a response to a post on Dwarf Throwing)!
There are many posts all over the place, mystress with people saying that they miss him, so he hadn't gone unnoticed.
lots of people did mystress, including me.
