It might be a good idea, Ed if at the top of the Chatterbank questions there is a note from you explaining the situation in a pink box so that people are not left wondering what on earth has happened.

make the most of my 'good' days!!!!

Hope you feel better for a rest gessoo.
Yes, same here... I think yesterday was one of those days when I just had to give in too. I'm not quite so bad today, just have to be careful not to go mad & end up back at square one......

see you later :-)

morning all, hope that the ailing soon fell better. Am spring cleaning today and cannot get into it!!

Robinia and gessoo MUST obey doctor's orders, we can't do without you...hope that smudge is back with us soon as well.

There's a lot of it about, my neighbour who is younger than me and way fitter (distance ran till her knee gave out, now cycles) has just had pneumonia!!

If its any comfort, they say that creaky gates last the longest!

Robinia, what a lovely website with all the dollies on, took me back to my childhood and a story about a girl called Bunchy (I think) by Joyce Lancaster Brisley, whose paper dolls came to life.

MUST get on with the cleaning

see you all later!

Well good morning each and evewryone, I was on earlier but wasn't sure of my address so stayed away.

jno I also could not get the piccy of gessoo's bath. But no surprise therte as I often cannot get anything.

Pickle are you with us??? Love the eiderdown. I would love to be an ebay buyer but as pickle knows I can't do it, he does it for me ah bless!!!

The sun is out

the sky is blue

there's not a cloud

to spoil the view and it's lovely.

lovely here in Spain

could almost write a song with those words he he.but we are expecting rain again tomorrow. Loos are behaving at present, and leaking roof is caused by rain coming in the airholes in the walls (bearing in mind that the dining room still has cane and seaweed in the ceiling - no of course I can't see it, it's plastered over but not very good when wet. Wish I could get plastered.

neti I'd always heard that the rain in Spain stayed mainly in the plain; perhaps Buddy Holly could try to work that into a song too.
I just posted this link on one of the lounge lizard questions, but I think the orangerie could do with some light reading for the coffee tables, so here it is again: http://www.moderndrunkardmagazine.com/issues/02_05/02-05_on_the_cuff.htm
So now Robinia can announce Beer Bong instead of bing bong.

beer bong!

aha neti - just seeing if it works. Glad the sun is shining for someone.....what's stopping you getting plastered? there must be some plonk left over from xmas in here somewhere....wonder where gessoo hides it?

thats a great read jno & I love the word crapulous - it can be my word of the day....and I haven't touched a drop.

woofgang - spring cleaning has been classed as a dangerous sport so stop it at once....tut....you'll be 'extreme ironing' next. I reckon you've still got the gasman there & you don't want to share him.

Well, I made it out as far as the cake shop so it's custard tarts all round......I'll give it ten mins before I eat Vinny's....

IAP - in the words of Thora Hird/Victoria Wood....
NOT on the eiderdown???!!!

Put that custard tart down now..robinia..!!! its mine..um yummy.......yep that was a good read jno(it's on me fave's now)hope everybodys feeling okay today, and if your not..get better soon.Had to wait in for a new tumble dryer to arrive..the door fell off me old one, and it was only 22years old.they said they would arrive between 7.15-to 11.30.yep ...they delivered it dead on 11.30....doh..!bloody cold out there init....Robinia..a pinch and a punch first day of the month and know return...>>>punch>>>goe's and hide's behind jukebox..(:)
It's like bloomin magic....one mention of tarts & Vinny appears. Come out from there...and that's gessoo's custard on the table so don't you dare....
Tumble drier? that's a bit new fangled...what's up with a washing line? Nothing like seing your bloomers flapping in the breeze.

Afternoon all.

Robinia Pleased you're feeling better. Didn't see you in Birds!! I like there Caramel doughnuts.:o)

Neti Good to know the leakage is improving.

Gessoo Hope you're feeling better soon

I'm not doing a deal today. Been to see my Dad. Think I told you he's 91. Cantankerous as ever today! Still we had a chat. Might read a bit this afto' A friend has lent me Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I've read all the others. I'm a Stephen King fan really and I would like Rowling to write a horror book for adults just to compare her with King. I like reading all sorts of books really not just horror!!

I hope everybody knows we are here now. I've been nipping back only to find there are more posts.

I think it shoud have been their
Phew ! I have been roaming round AB lilke a lost soul getting accosted by lounge lizards.I thought that bus would never come. I was so far down that busstop I kept getting funny looks.
Sorry to hear some of you folks are not too well. I do wish I could send Gessoo and Robinia some of my Pferdesalbe. Not a cure but it does help the old joints.
You are best off in bed Gessoo....I have a feeling you are like me and get attacks of it.

Love to you all xxx
I didn't see your post about the knitting patterns Gessoo.
a lot of mine are age old too, from my Mum and Grandmother and various elderly aunts.I have been collecting them for years and am always raking through Ebay looking for the more unusual ones.I have some with a young Roger Moore and Joanna Lumley.I have lots oof books and booklets too and recently got a lovely one from World war 1..".Knitting for the troops.". Perhaps I shall knit Vinny some long johns!! Ha Ha !
Pickle's eiderdown reminds me of the 1950's when my best friend had a beautiful bedroom (only child) with a pink eiderdown on top of the bed, whereas my family (9 kids) had utility blankets and a dressing gown for extra warmth.

hi Jude - it wasn't you in front of me at the shop was it? - she kept changing her mind and she wasn't even a biddy! I don't like horror - books or films, especially the psychologically disturbing type - I'm disturbed enough!....I'm more into easy going, easy to follow soppy or funny stuff nowadays. Give me a complicated plot & I'm lost. I love Deric Longden, he has a new book due very soon. I don't know if you ever heard him talking on Radio Derby. He used to live in Derbyshire but he's now in Yorks.

shaneystar I'm sorry you had to come on the bus - will have a stern word with Vinny for not coming to fetch you. I've got lots of old knitting patterns too, if I ever decide to part with any of them I'll let you know.....I couldn't do anything 3ply it would drive me potty.

I remember a really lumpy feather bed and that had be shaken every day.It was really heavy. We had scratchy blankets which my Dad had got from the Merchant Navy stores. They were a sort of cream colour with a navy stripe.. and made you feel all itchy, they were so rough. We did have flannelette sheets though. I didn't have an eiderdown only what my Mum referred to as a counterpane. We also had bolsters on the beds!

Robinia Not me this morning I usually know what I want before I go in. It's either 3 caramel doughnuts or 3 blackcurrant tarts for me, my sister and her husband. Do you listen to Radio Derby much. I've been listening to Shane O'Connor while I've been off sick. I can't say I've heard Deric Longdon on or read any of his books. I don't have the radio on in the afternoons, it's usually reading or crosswords when all the housework's done. Not that there's that much when you live on your own. Roll on Summer when I can hang out my washing!! :o)

Yes Robinia ..I am very annoyed at Vinny..I'm sure he did drive past me..saw me standing ( lolling! ) there and whizzed off ..I am sure it was him ..he had a can of Becks in his hand and a trailer full of sprouts on the back .
Are you a crossword fan too Jude? i am addicted to the bloomin' things!! I spend a fortune on stamps sending them all in and I never win anything!
