Woah! So much hostility on this site? Why?
I have used forums and Q & A sites before but I have never come across so much childishness.
I perhaps shouldn't say this seeign as I am new, but why don't you all just grow up and use the site as it is intended. Ask question (valid questions) and receive answers?
It seems quite simple to me but it appears that there are some children on here that cannot follow the rules.

i think you have to get to know some of the people on here first of all untill you make a sweeping statement like that....although i have come across some antics..but then i have quite a sick sense of humour...give it a chance first of all i think you might like it ......
it was nt what i had expected either but there are some really ,really nice people on here and very intelligent as well (also some right knobs!!) but you cant get on with every one can you....some no doubt think im a knob....but thats ok....freedom of speech and all that....i used to get quite upset with some remarks but honestly you have to get to know the people..... i hope this helps

We've already told you, I think the general idea is that no one's any idea why posts degenerate into nastiness and childishness, they just do, call it a quirk for want of a better word. That logically should close this question for you, it's irrelevant whether you're satisfied with the outcome really.

The other issue here is what you perceive as hostility towards yourself, however as you've already confirmed you're not here to make friends, that shouldn't make a difference to you, should it?

You ask a serious question, it will be answered sensibly ( by most folk anyway). However if your opening sentences start with calling us childish and telling us to grow up you seriously can't be naive enough to assume that this won't be challenged can you?

Oh for goodness sake, make your mind up. Its either childishness or hostility, which is it? One infers silly banter, the other infers venomous hatred. I often have patience, but you are getting tedious now. And whichever it is, who knows why. Why don�t you just ask the person you are accusing directly why they are childish (or hostile).
