Why can't we report them anymore? The only option I can see is to report the entire question.

when beta still worked you could do it on there. Now the only option is to report the question and hope the Ed sees the reason is one answer, not question OR email the Ed.

Well I emailed Ed last night about particular replies, but you'd think it'd be in their best interest to give us the option to report back wouldnt ya? Surely they'd rather us report replies than have dozens of emails sat in their in-box?

I agree, but they do seem to take note of some emails at least.

When we had the option to report the answer most of the time it was quickly removed. Now it stays until the ed gets around to checking it out, if they ever do.
I don't like having to report the entire question as it doesn't seem fair on the questioner to have their thread removed because of a select few.

I think people were complaining that they were being banned for no apparent reason, and i suppose somebody with several user names could do that to someone they dislike? just a theory, im sure ive heard somebody say that.
It would be good to have it back at times tho the worst abusers on here have several usernames and just come back again.
The best bit about having it reinstated would be that the vile comments would disappear so everyone (and youngsters) cant read them again and again.

I've been asking this for ages B00 but never had an answer...I often think this site is some psychological experiment to see just how nasty & pathetic some people can become....

come on ED....do something about the report option please!!!!

Hello B00, Maybe they like it as it is, maybe they sit in the office reading all the abuse and vile comments peeing themselves at what some of the loonies on here write, I can see no other reason for it not being put back,
just an observation, none of these people are banned, but if people didn't reply to them, they would soon get bored and sod off somewhere else OR in some cases they could happily chat away to themselves for hours, poor dears.

Yes you could be right, I find it totally baffling why Ed & Co do seem to be sactioning the nastiness that's crept back on to CB, we were there before and the category got pulled. I think it's about time it was again along with several of its users.

The report buttons should definitely be brought back, BOO. However, I agree with Ray. If the abusive or stupid posts offend, they should be reported (by email if that's the only option) and then totally ignored.

We are all guilty of sometimes rising to the bait, but these people would soon go away if noone took any notice of them and ignored their postings.

It might be nice if we could at least have some sort of response from a member of AB staff to prove that the residents of the monastory haven't had a mass suicide pact!!!

That's what I mean Lottie (hello by the way), it's hard to care about a site when even those that run it don't seem to!

And as to your other point, yes it would be easier to ignore posts, but when they are directed at you that is easier said than done, or it is in my case anyway.

I entirely agree with B00 (not for the first or last time). Monitoring by users was the alternative to having moderators 24/7 and maybe a pay site as they would want time and a half. Why on earth was it dropped? Just part of the great beta fiasco perhaps
