As a supposedly reputable and responsible organisation, how on earth can you justify allowing the amount of obscene abuse appearing of late in the Chatterbank forum ?

You have removed the abiity of the sane contributors to moderate the threads themselves with the removal of the report this answer button. For what good reason ?

Relegating a 'username' to the dungeon seems to have precious little effect, with the majority of the offenders being quite happy to boast of having many alternatives to use..........

Surely it is noy beyond your capabilities to devise more punative measures for those causing ost offence ?

And to indicate that you are actually reading these posts wouldn't hurt, either !

I have seen lots of people saying they are emailing admin about posts like these but nothing is getting done about any of it.

The thing is, there is someone moderating the site cos when I first logged on a while ago there were two unanswered questions showing on the front page with the same title/same category/same username. I clicked on one but it wasnt there, I clicked on the other and it was there. I assume it was a duplicate post and one of them had been removed. If they can get off their arses long enough to remove an inoffensive duplicate post why the hell dont they remove offensive nasty remarks like the ones that are appearing all over the place?

I have to admit to being ashamed of AB lately. Mr Boo has a habit of looking at what im doing over my shoulder occasionally and I'll close AB down before I let him see the bilge i'm viewing, I'm sure he thinks i'm looking at porn or something- lol!

Pixi firstly i think the removal of duplicate posts may be an aoutomated thing , tho i migfht be wrong.
Im not sure why the individual report button was removed , but i suspect it might have been because people were spamming the site by always reporting individual usersv answers in an attempt to remove them from threads / to annoy them.The length of tiomer youve been on here im sure youve notivced that before .

The current nonsense seems to have rolled over from the night shift .its all disgusting , but its all been said at night and to me .Sadly when it appears in the daytime it shocks.Really it should shock anytime of the day or night.This paedo /child abuse stuff started as far back as 18 months ago when i saw posts from wardy then as joe the lion then as bewlay brothers.Folk put up with it.No w its become the norm amongst some users.Thats the problem when you lower your standards.

I just cant believe that this site has thousands of members most of them genuine normal people yet the site seems to be ruled by a small handful with a zillion usernames between them who can do and say what they like.

Isnt it a site rule that multiple usernames are not allowed?

And to think that old cb got shutdown for far less than goes on now :(

The problem is folks having or being able to have multiple usernames. Any abusive posts or usernames that get banned just come right back with a new one, as you've already said, so it doesn't really fix the problem.

I think the AB admin need to honestly look for ways to get around that. Something like every username from the same IP address has the same membership number fixed to it, that shows up in all posts.

If a user has a non-staic IP there is very little that can be done.

We are all aware that Wardy says things so vile as to make your eyes water.................his posts are obscene and offensive.

But please do not hold up what you are 'not' involved in as some sort of shining example.............

You can buy ip adresses for watching tv ive read that on ab.And for online gambling .

the point is this has been going on for 18 months now and im surprised at the sudden disgust being posted here by users.
only last week a thread with bewlay brothers in it had posts telling users he hoped their children died , he hoped someones daughter got eye cancer , thjought it was strange noone got ir repoerted for hours.the thread was over 200 posts and was pure bile about sodomising your kids and rapingdying wives?now any longterm users here know this has gone on for years .irrespective of wether ts in defence or not .its been going on why the sudden outcry now ?
