Hi Shawnee,
I think we could do with you next time we need some testers! Right, Clairo gave us some helpful information there. How the database is searched is a bit complex for me to explain at the moment - I am not a Tech wizard. In the future we hopefully will allow users to search by post date, this should be help weekend posters who only want help with that weekends crossword.
Hold on, will resume shortly, a techie is explaining it to me...

The search is broken down into three domains:
1. questions (title, content, user)
2. answers (content, user)
3. articles (title, content)
The content gets 'indexed' (available for search) in a delayed fashion - it could be 15 mins to 1 h later that something appears in a search.
They are still working on the indexing as the site has just grown fatter. Yesterday they disabled indexing so they could play with it without breaking the site - they hope to enhance it today.
I think I will let them get on with it!
