Wasn't my soles Neti it was the tops of my insteps. Should have said instep not arches. I wasn't doing the gardening on standing on my head!!! Ooops
just check my tomatoes while you're inverted, will you Lottie...

A bracing 30 degrees here today and the men have begun laying drains in my garden. They didn't even want tea, just iced water.
Evening all
Did I read somewhere recently that the've managed to get some form of artificial life in a laboratory somewhere .Well hopefully they'll soon be producing new bodies and I'm first in the queue .
I love the summer but it don'tseem to like me this time round .These fluctuating temps are making my joints scream in tune with Robinias .It's now turned much cooler here so I suppose that's that for our summer.
Congratulations Dolly on all your good news and congratulations Jno on your new drains .
Evening, biddies. All this talk of shoes and Birkenstock made me realise I've never owned a pair of the real thing, so I went looking for some - I really need summer shoes, would you believe I'm still walking around in thin-leather military boots (feminine, I hasten to add). Didn't find any - or that's what I thought - but I found some similar sandals of a brand calledTatami and it turned out they ARE Birkenstock and also that the most comfortable plastic sandals I've ever worn, Betula, are Birkenstock too.

The time was five minutes to six and I bought the Tatami under stress but they are too small - eeeeeek, my feet are getting bigger!! Not to worry, I can take them back, but thanks to this I started googling and it turns out there's a Birkenstock store here in Stockholm - I never knew. I may go there tomorrow:) I admit they aren't pretty but my feet don't do pretty anymore. I'll just spice my trousers up instead... http://i46.tinypic.com/15i3kur.jpg
if anyone has an answer to my Facebook puzzle, please post it...

Ignore it jno, I've seen your FB page, in fact you've popped up as a friend suggestion but I keep things private. Did this friend suggestion appear also as a message on FB? If you answer it may validate the scam if it is one. I'm a great one for deleting anything I am unsure about.

Swedie, wearing boots in the summer is the thing to do here, I always used to wear boots with shorts, as do most of the youngsters here. But the heat made the legs sweat unbearably. Daughter is still wearing them to work as I speak.

jno, spare ed has answered your q.
Morning peeps and creaks...back to 12C today which may be just as well as I *thought* yesterday wasn't hot but managed to acquire a mild heat/sunstroke episode yesterday teatime. Ooooh right peculiar I was, sweating, shaking, head spinning, no doubt due to pottering in & out all day, we forget that the sun still gets to us even when there's a cool breeze. And if that wasn't enough I woke at 6am with screaming pain spasms in my left shoulder & round the shoulder blade which was down to my shed tidying & reaching up to put paint on a high shelf...that's me boogered for the day, I am a very stupid old biddy. I've got a lovely glowing chest like yours too neti!...ok, maybe not quite like yours.
I'm behind you shaney in the 'new body' queue and please leave some nice bazooms for me, it's only fair you know.

Loving the chandelier trousers Kit, hahaha...I've been looking at Birkenstocks myself but are they heavy? I've got some wooden flip flops which might be good for exercising your calf muscles but I think you need to be able to move with them on.
if comfortable shoes are the question, IMO Crocs are the answer....I know, I know, ugly overpriced,,,yadda yadda but BLISSFULLY comfortable
They're not all ugly now though woofy, are the daintier, do you know if the pump-style ones are as comfy?
^ ^ ^
poop, my brain's still scrambled, haha...I think you get my drift?
thanks for the FB suggestions. I still don't understand how Person A can know that I'm a friend of Person B if neither of us knows Person A. So I will delete. But I still don't know how this scam works, if it's a scam.

He didn't even offer me any riches from Nigeria.

My feet swelled up in the heat yesterday - first time that's ever happened. And it was hot but not THAT hot. Considering the chilblains last winter, which were also a first, I am beginning to suspect my feet have had enough of me and will join my teeth in heading elsewhere.
Aaaaaarghhhhhhh. I've got lack of sleep dating months back. They're drilling in the building and I'm not talking hang-a-painting-drilling, this is the shake-the-whole-building kind of drilling and they're carrying rubble out in big sacks. (I wrote 'rabble' at first - good thing I decided to look it up!) As we all know, this kind of work has to take place at daybreak and is carefully measured out to last for just as long as it takes to make it impossible for you to go back to sleep. Which is why I've come to the conclusion that when men-with-big-drills die, they reincarnate as birds. Same behaviour.

Somebody has actually seen jno's FB page???? Neti I'm amazed. Now we must kill you. Isn't there a place in the bible where God tells somebody- --- wait---- *google-google-google* --- here it is:

Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

Neti thou hast seen more than jno's back parts??? Cos jno I'd hate to think that your profile photo on FB features- ...er nevermind, let's drop the subject ;-)

Robi my Tatami feel heavyish when I lift them up in my hand but not heavy when worn. Must be because they fit so snugly, they're more like a part of the foot. /Will google Crocs now.
hahaha, lol at Sweedie quoting the bible...'rabble' one of my favourite words...I thought the aliens were landing at the very least the other morning...it was a road sweeper.

Yes jno, this must be the wrong kind of heat..has it brought the railways to a standstill yet?
Hi all
If there are any shoes that fit on my awful foot and leg can you point me in the direction of them .
Not wearing the damn socks hasn't done me any favours .I'm going to find the biggest paper bag they do and cover myself in it from head to foot .I simply can't wear these thick tight socks and closed shoes all summer and I'm cheesed off with it .
I don't know where to put myself today .It's dropped to 12C here and I feel like something the cat's brought in and refused to eat .

Jno ..I've had emails from Facebook asking me to be Tom Dick or Harrys friend and I haven't even got a Facebook account !
Question Author
well swedie, this is what is on jno's FB page, a faceless sillouette and "jno (not really) only shares info with certain peeps" so being private people I ignore it cos if jno wants me as a FB friend they can ask me on here first!

Hah! 12º Robi. well it's a damn sight hotter here, have been visiting friends for a 3hr coffee morning.

The reason you get FB invites, shaney, is because some of your email contacts are on FB and it just invites everyone on their email list.

PS I have lost 4kgs in 2 weeks!
^ ^ ^ tut...it's taken me 10 weeks to put that much on :o/

shaney these yo-yo temps are no good for us... I heard/read somewhere that it takes our bodies 2 weeks to adjust to a climate change (and the thinner you are the harder it is)...that's a joke in this country, we rarely have 2 days the same.
I don't know about the other styles...I stick to beaches (original) caymans (slim version of original) and aspens (original no holes) They are very light, supportive and cushioning and go in the washing machine if you happen to step in dog poo.
I have surfaced. I can only think that I overdid things on Sunday. Today I feel much like a mix of Shaney and Robbi. Absolutely full of aches and pains, dizzy and sick. I didn't get up until 3.00pm. My head is splitting. See you soon.

(Glad you have discovered Birkenstocks Swedie - I couldn't live without them. I keep my eye out for bargains on ebay. I know that size 40 regular width will fit, whatever style I choose. I am now looking for some of these a bit cheaper, although I might end up ordering them from this company. It's a good place to order from Swedie)
