She has now come out to express her 'anger' over the leak of her pseudonym.

Am I the only one who thinks this is just a ploy to raise the profile and therefore sales of the book?

It had sold only 1500 copies prior to this 'leak' and now (surprise surprise) tops the best seller lists.

I think that's a very fair apprasial of the situation Matt:)
no, I think she's genuinely annoyed. She's famous as a one-trick pony and wanted to see if she would be acknowledged as writing just as well under another name. (Though sales weren't high, she got some very good reviews by people who didn't know who she was.) Now she'll never know. I'd be annoyed too.

The lawyers have said it was their fault and that it wasn't part of a marketing strategy. They should be annoyed too: a serious breach of professional ethics.
I think you are being slightly cynical matt................
Always bear in mind that reports of a person being slightly upset doesn't sell newspapers. Reports of 'anger' and 'fury' do. I wonder if that's true in this case?
"I feel very angry that my trust turned out to be misplaced."

She seems clear enough.
I hardly think a law firm is going to go public with an apology for a serious breach of trust and confidence by one of their partners as part of a publicity ploy!
Is JK that desparate that she would enter into an elaborate publicity stunt? Personally don't think so.
I agree with jno. It might be a ploy on someone's part but it wouldn't be on her's. She doesn't need the money.
