New Drawing For You

Thought that I would share it as not all of you are on my e-mail.
A present for my goddaughter's bro who is marrying a delightful Norfolk gal....they have made me MC for the event. So this plus the invitations is my pressie. First time that I have worked from photos, having gone up there 3 weeks ago to capture the basics. The door will be used as an icon on the race card (order of service) and then the t-you cards will have a b&w photo of them coming down the nave and a miniature of the drawing on the back.
The photo is slightly distorted - blame my photography skills, but the lower aisle's roof does fall away.....after 800 years, things do subside and distort perspective! That's part of the beauty of drawing such old buildings.

I drew a good friends house near Newmarket and that was the first one with flint (and brick)- bloody awful stone to draw! The finishings on the church are Caen oolitic stone - guess it was easier/cheaper in the 13thC to barge it around from Normandy than overland from the Cotswolds.
If you ever move on to drawing moggies let me know.
I can't even draw a straight line using a ruler.
I live near this building - it is on the site of a monastery.
