'When things go wrong, as they sometimes will and life's a struggle - all uphill...' Can anyone tell me the poem please? Not the cheeky version I found on a birthday card ! :-)

I wish I could still do it like that Vinny. It's toned down a bit nowadays Lol!!
Evening all - am just orf to bed to watch "Notes on a Scandal" again, as it was so good.

Went to hairdressers today for the new Victoria Beckham style, have come out looking like Harry Potter!!! I've never had such dark hair in my life! ( At least the grey has gone). Hairdresser was moaning about there being at least 30 hairdressers in our small village, saying that no one has any imagination, so I looked at myself in the mirror, and agreed with her. Will be wearing a David Beckham woolly hat for the foreseeable future! Nite all xx

The man replies;"A cartoon family with yellow faces,:...hehe..!

Morning All . Took me ages to get your joke Vinny what a thicko I am! Hope you are all ok. It's a lovely day here. I'm off to the dentist to discuss a complete overhaul of my teeth. Should be interesting!
Had the most brilliant meal last night at a Restaurant called The White House in Sawley not far from here. It took us 3 hours to get through 3 courses. My friends bought me a beautiful gold chain with a 'dangly' diamond on it as a gift for my retirement. I'm off now see you later....:o)
Question Author
>>>blinded by Jude's diamonds<<<

s'pose you'll be using that as an excuse to ride around on your

charlie's terrified of frogs!
Oooh I say Robinia perhaps it's an omen ! Very cosmic. I was hanging some washing out and I thought it was a leaf on the lawn ...on closer inspection ....wow ! By the time I had hobbled in and got the camera he was about to "hop it ".
But I just caught him in time .
Question Author
cosmic haha....knowing my luck, if I'd kissed him he'd have turned out to be a certain prince of greek origin.....

had lots of cosmic again today - two old songs I went to look for on youtube have just been played together(!) on local radio...in fact someone on there has been 'playing my life' for the past 2 days....
Good evening everyone, I went to town to buy an iron cast skillet and now I haven't got the energy to carry it back home with me (I've got a congenitally bad back). I'll just have to sit here. Nice skillet anyway.

Jude, I'm impressed - did you do those mid-air 360 degree turns?

Shaney I'll just keep asking until you see me: What kind of decoupage do you do? Boxes, screens - what? Seems like fun, I like layout.

That generation video Vinny posted reminded me of Harry Nilsson's I'd rather be dead - have y'all heard it? But this one had loads more attitude. I emailed it to my sister, haven't heard from her since - she must still be laughing.

I reckon they've got themselves some mighty fine 'puters Over There, jno, so I wrote you a little song and I hope you can see it. It's real bona fide. Bona fide rip-off of the Virginia State Song. Sing it whenever you miss us.

to be continued
CARRY ME BACK FROM OLD VIRGINNY

Carry me back from old Virginny
To where the know-alls their knowledge strive to show
There's where the bidd's shoot the breeze in the spring time
There's where this old ABer's heart am long'd to go

There's where I laboured so hard for Olde Englande
Day after day in the field of Phrases lorn
No place on earth do I love more sincerely
Than AB Mater where thickoes are down torn

Carry me back from old Virginny
To where the know-alls their knowledge strive to show
There's where the bidd's have their cheese and a chit-chat
There's where this old ABer's heart am long'd to go

Carry me back to old Robinny,
Vinny and Shaney and Jude - Dolly, Neti, Kit
Long their abysmal ill-breeding I've suffered
Now I'm albeit a trial used to it

Monsters and Masters have long recognized me
Oft-times we meet on their bright and golden shore
They are officially my sort, they're my peer group
Beer group, the biddies - but yes I love them more!

Carry me back from old Virginny
To where the know-alls their knowledge strive to show
There's where the bidd's slave away over Google
There's where this old ABer's known as j-n-ooo!
Question Author
hahaha...that's brilliant Kit.... Robinny!
...how long did it take you to do that? if jno doesn't see it on some far flung computer you must repost it....
(I've wanted my computer to be flung far somedays)

Many a day, Robinny, many a day, and many a dictionary. I don't remember how the melody goes, so I did a metrical analysis too, which I'm not too sure of. It's so strange - when somebody asks me in English for an address or a shop or whatever I can't find the words at all, I basically just point the way, and then when they say thank you I say ...nothing... then nothing... then: ..."erm, yes" - 'cause I can't even remember the phrase "You're welcome"! I understand English so much better than I speak it, so when I have my dictionaries I'm alright. But I can't carry them about, not with the skillet as well...

Had coffee with my belly dancing friend the other day. She told me that the hip belt they use isn't just meant to mark the hips visually. In class, the beginners "have to" wear the kind with jingly coins, as the sound - or lack of it - helps the teacher discover the mistakes that the pupils are making...
