Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

-A new person that hasn't appeared yet.
-Wormtail (Dumbledore hinted something in the 5th book about him)
-Seamus Finnigan
The new person is very likely to be the HBP, and I doubt that Wormtail is it. As I read the answers, I noticed that not many people remember the 1st book all too clearly (and those who only have seen the movie would not have a clue).
I remember Seamus Finnigan saying in chapter seven, book 1, page 125, 3rd paragraph, stating, "I'm half-and-half. Me dad's a Muggle. Mom didn't tell him she was a witch until after they were married. Bit of a nasty shock for him."
See my point? I think it's most likely to be Seamus.
this is again off the subject, but ithink wormtail is ging to die in the next book, or book seven. The reason why is because he is evil, but also dumbledore told harry once that harry saved womrtails life by not lettign lupin or sirius kill him the PoA, so in the wizarding world ifhis happens its a wizards debt to return the favor. I think that when harry encounters voldemort or the death eaters in the next 2 books hes going to return the favor of harry saving his life by sacrificing his own
lets think about this logicaly. One has anyone noticed their is always something to do with the defense against the dark arts class. Two what about harrys mothers side of the family. Three I have heard a rumor about lupin and sirus. two questions form from this is sirus brothe really dead?,and Does lupin have a brother?
I dont know who the prince will be but I dont think it could be a new character because I think I read an interview of Mrs. Rowling and I think there she said that it isnt going to be a new character because this would be too complicated. I have to search for that again, but I am quite sure about it.
I wanted to ask you, if someone has found out the clue in the rubbish bin? I cant work it out, I could only find the half of it. PLEASE help me if somebody knows!!
PS.: Im sorry if there are any mistakes but my mothertongue is not english.
I think mr.nice and luna could be right, who say it is Godric, and I really think it sounds like it....but on the other hand....I dont know..maybe she wants to take us in the wrong direction, because on her side she says that some of the answers got really close and that was before the excerpt from the book was shown.
It says on the news that j.k. rowling says that the half blood prince is niether harry nor voldermort but she did not say that it would not be tom riddle, she also sed the second book was alomost called the half blood prince instead of the chamber of secrets so that obviously shows that tom riddle who was in that book is probably most likely going to be the half blood prince in the next book.
JKR has officially stated that neither Harry or Voldemort is the half blood prince. Neither do i think that it is Mark Evans. It may be Hagrid, but I don't think so. And For some reason, I don't think that it will be a new character. JKR bases her books on surprising twists and turns, and to just introduce a character with no known background into the next book seems a little bit predictable. But you know, I'm probably wrong. But no, it's not Harry or Voldemort, she said that herself.
I think that the prince could be Seamus Finnigan, he did say "me dads a muggle, mams a witch, bit of a nasty shock when he found out". Think about he's from Ireland where royalty is strong, we dont know very much about him, the term "prince" suggests that the person is male (duh) and young (hence not being called King). There is also a possibility that it could be Dudley, why not? it would make it interesting!
Well Harry and Voldemort r outta the picture *crosses out names on list of characters* I have seen a bit from the book which describes an unknown and new character. Im only guessing it is describing the Prince (and if so he dusnt sound too cute). But like I sed, its only a guess. www.jkrowling.co.uk is where u get it from.
