Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

If by suggesting Harry turns Voldemort back into Tom Riddle, you are meaning he turns him back to good, ala Return of the Jedi, I dont think that is going to happen.
I dont know who the Half-Blood Prince is but just read The Order of the Phoenix and cant seem to remember any mention of Mark Evans. Could someone enlighten me as to who this person is?
Secondly, I dont think Harry has a twin as the prophecy mentioned by Dumbledore at the end of Order of the Phoenix, seems to suggest that- Neville Longbottom aside-only one child was born at that time who would be able to defeat the Dark Lord. As Dumbledore was there when Harry was placed with the Dursleys and was the one to place him there, I dont think a twin is possible or he would have known about him all along and told Harry in his confession in the last book.
The reason Dumbledore trusting Snape HAS been explained, in book 4 i think. Snape betrayed Voldemort. Which brings upa question for me even tought this is the HBP questions. The DADA teach, could he be the HBP? My new theory is that Lupin might be the HBP, but could he also come back as the new DADA teach?
thanks uber_panda for replying.....i cant wait until this book is released. i guess i'd kinda be a bit dissapointed in it was colin creezy or sumone lyk that. i was hoping for a new character to come in by surprise and suddenly play thing big role that helps everything fit, as if it were a big puzzle...
Sorry to inform everyone that the Half Blood Prince has nothing to do with Harry, Voldemort, or Mark Evans. In fact, J.K. Rowling quotes on her web site the the mention of Mark Evans was an accidental mention. She said she slipped with giving Mark the last name of 'Evans' and that he has nothing to do with the story what so ever. I believe the Half blood Prince is a new character.

The Tom that was found dead was Voldemort's father. Voldemort killed his father (Tom Riddle) and his grandparents (the Riddles) because they cast him out when they found out that his mother was a witch. Hence, why he needs the bone from his father, the arm from his servent and the blood from his enemy to rise again.
It makes total sense that Dumbledore will be the half blood prince. He is the most powerful wizard in the books. It would make sense for the book to be titled after him as he will most likely be DEAD by the end of book 6. It makes sense Harry has to kill Voldemort so "a la" Star Wars the master must sacrifice himself for the student to achieve the ultimate goal. It makes sense. Mark Evans is noone. It isn't Harry or Voldemort. J.K. Rowling has said that.
