Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

I think JK has just been playing along, and Dumble door may have got it wrong so therefore it will be Neville who slays Volderemort, i think there will be a Snape romance. Maybe the half-blood prince is Hermione and she is just a man like Nadia.

It could be Tom Riddle, cause Rowling even mentioned that certain events coupld have been switched around in 2 and 6. As well Tom Riddle is not Voldemort--at least not yet, there may be some kind of past ressurection... If it is Dumbledore then that would acknowledge his indepth knowledge of magic. Yet it would seem probable that Dumbledore may dies because he is not the one who is supposed to fight Lord Voldemort, and knows that as well, so he wouldn't mind sacrificing himself to save the wizarding world...

I am from the States and i am trying to figure out who is Mark Evans. I have asked all my friends and no one knows. Someone on this site said to look on page 17, but its not there, and then i remember that the US gets different copies of the book. Well it's definetly not someone obvious. My initial thought was Tom Riddle because on J.K. Rowling's website she said she had considered HBP as the title for the Chamber of Secret's. However, I do not believe that to be correct because Tom Riddle as far was we know does not have any official royalty. But if you think about it you're a prince before a king and Tom Riddle is the form of Voldermort before he's a lord. Maybe it's too obvious but if you think about it, it makes sense...any thoughts?

I know JK rowling said that it wasn't voldermort but what if it was Tom Riddle. In cos tom refers to himself as voldermort only once he mostly acts like the two of them are completely different people and he's a half blood something that he's very ashamed of and dumbledore says very few people knew that voldermort was once called tom riddle.so they're kinda like two different people. It's just a thought!

ok well this may sound crazy but...i think hagrid could be the half blood prince. we all know that he is half giant and there are numerous clues that could lead to him in the chamber of secrets

Tom Riddle is the half blood prince. Lord Voldemort is using his identity. That is why he hates Dumbledore so much because Dumbledore knows his secret. In Gof it opens on a murder that happened 50 years earlier and it killed the Riddle family. Only Voldemort at that time was still young so he hadn't a lot of power yet. So perhaps Tom survived that attack. Gof states that he was a quite a character so perhaps he knew he was a prince. So VOLDEMORT is NOT a prince, but TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE is...

poter--be nice. I'm not an idiot. Tom was found "dead" by the police in GoF. How could he have faked it? That is why I think that he survived, Voldemort wasn't THAT powerful yet...

i think that the half blood prince might be mark evans. i mean think about it, dudly picks on him for no reason, and how do we know that lily didn't have a brother?? i mean mark has the same last name as lilys maden name is. so i think that she did have a brother and that mark evans is his son. or did any one ever think of dudly?? i mean if it is not mark then it might be dudly. i have always thought that petunia has some powers, maby she just don't know it. and that would make dudly a half blood. and he already know about voldermort and all. so i think that it is one of those two people.
