Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

Harry Potter and the half blood prince-Theories: jkr was going to call CoS theHBC but che changed because she realized that book six was where theHBC truly was so with that said i dont think it will be a new person. maybe it is a death eater the one voldemort says remains truly faithful yet we have to find out who this is some say that it is snape but i disagree he works for the order which means dumbledore trusts him and since jkr often speaks through dumbledore i think this means he is good so if he went back too voldemort when he returned he risked absoultley nothin but was actually saving himself so that way he would not get killed by voldemort or maybe its the one he has lost forever i personnally think this is crouch because he ignores harry and dumbledore when they tell him that voldemort is back i think he does this cause he does not want to belive that voldemort is back for his own sake because if he was back crouchwould be in danger of being murdered by voldemort but what we do know is that jkr said that CoS was going to be HBC but she realized that HBC was truly the sixth book so what i typed above was a waste for the theories of HBC because these are GoF and OotP related so if the character is a person inside of CoS that cuts out a lot of people
sry it wouldnt let me put it all in one for those of you that think mark evans is the half blood prince i daresay that you are wrong because-
1)jkr said that it would be a character from CoS mark evans is in OotP
2)he is a muggle ( the guy that dudley beat at his high school) if he goes to dudleys high school he cannot possibly go ro hogwart beauxbatons or any other wizarding school in the world because he is a muggle!!! which means that he cannot be the half blood prince
some of us think it is ginny who is th HBC and your argument would be that she is in CoS but Ginny is a girl it would be the half blood princess not the half blood prince and anyways ginny is a pureblood So if it is a person from CoS
i cant belive i had to divide it into 3
We have the charachters-percy,harry,ron,fred,george,ginny,dean,seamus,neville,hermione,flitwick,mcgonagall,malfoy,lockhart,dumbledore,snape, tom riddle and many many more which i could go on forever but first lets just try and find reasons why or why not this person could be the HBC percy is a purblood jkr said it wasnt harry ron is a pureblood fred and george are purebloods ginny is a girl dean is a mudblood seamus now here is a half blood but is in gryffindor but whoever said that the half blood prince was bad i mean the order was the name of a book and it is good but seamus isnt a charachter that is mentioned that much so i dont think that it is him neville is a pureblood hermione is a mudblood and a girl flitwick we dont know too much about him do we? hmmmmmmm mcgonagall is a girl malfoy is a pureblood lockhart has lost his memory and personally i hope he doesnt get it back dumbledore is he half or pure we dont know but remember the half blood prince can be a good guy or a bad snape is a pureblood i think but maybe hes not hmmmmmmm and tom riddle i consider tom riddle and voldemort as two different alias's in one persons body (eg:gollum-smeagle from LOTR) so maybe even though voldemort is not the half blood prince riddle can be hmmmm who knows? none of us which means all that i just typed and what everybody else did is worthless because only jkr knows.
One big clue from COS is the use of anagrams. ie, Tom Marvolo Riddle becomes I am Lord Voldemort. I have been fiddling with anagrams, using the website www.wordsmith.org/anagram, and there have been some interesting results, although I can't yet say I have found anything I would state as my choice for the HBP. Although, Filch does make an interesting appearance... ;)
Justin Finch-Fletchley. 1)Mother wanted him to go to Eton - prestigious school - royalty attends - he said his name was down for Eton 2)He's really introduced in the second book 3)In the duel the snake headed straight for him
4)Why was he so afraid of Harry being the heir - they were many other half bloods - as in Dean and Seamus.
There are so many possibilities people have put up for characters which could potentially be HBP. Its unbelievable. JKR did say that HBP is related to CoS. I dont know if she said that this character was introduced in CoS. I am reading again the complete HP series. In CoS on pg 182 when Dippet asks whether Tom Riddle is Muggle-born, he replies he is "Half-Blood" . Now I dont think this word/term is mentioned anywhere before in HP series. I dont know if it is mentioned in any later books also. I am searching, you can also do so if u want. That is also another the reason I just feel the HBP is Tom Riddle. In my earlier msg i have given some more reasons. Why JKR said it is neither Harry nor Voldermort. I personally wanted Harry to be the HBP, but is not the case. Ofcourse if u exclude both of them the next best chance is Mark Evans as I have earlier also said. We are just speculating. Hope the door on JKR site open soon and give us some more clues.
I believe that it is Neville that JK Rowling is talking about. First, Neville was born on the same day as Harry, and he could easily be the one that Voldemort could have picked to be his rival. And if i m not mistaken, I think that Neville is the true heir of Griffindor, and Voldemort has been wrong since the beginning. However, as he chose HP already, Neville can only be considered as Half Blood, because he original fate is taken by Harry already.
I am shocked and stunned at the number of replies i have received! My inbox is groaning with emails from answerbank! There are some really good theories out there and ive taken the time to read them all yet i still can't make up my mind! Everytime i think ive sussed it someone come up with a new one that makes me think twice. I guess we'll all have to wait until the book comes out - and believe me it can't come quick enough! ;o)
JK Rowling said the clue was in the second book. Read it and it's there; It's Justin Finch - Fletchley, from Hufflepuff, the one the snake in the duel was going to attack and was then petrified. He was down to go to Eton, until his mother realised the value of having a fully trained wizard in the family - after she read Lockharts books. Why put in eton if not relevent at some later point?
ok, the jkrowling website is great! but i really think that she should at least tell us how many clues we need to access the STUPID DOOR!!! i've been on the site for like 3 hours and i got 4 clues( everyone was saying there were 4) but i cant get it..
---the cellphone #62442(thanks 100x tom_felton!)
---the pen[links] that was easy
---the extra stuff(and i found the clues in that part: for those of you who know what i am talking about)
---the key[fan sites]
I got certificates for all of them, and i was looking all over the F.A.Q, but all it is links to read the facts!! can you please give me a clue for this? i really want to know what lies behind the door! thanks alot!
For the last time how can it be mark evans. Just because he was mentioned in book 5 dont mean he is it. The clue is in book 2 chamber of secrets not book 5 order of the pheniox. Mark evans was not mentioned in book 2 at all so there is no clue in book 2 stating the he would be the hbp. Will you all take a minute and think about this before you just put whatever you want on here. Just because you want someone to be the hbp dont mean that the person you want will be it.
J.K. Rowling said the half blood prince was introduced in the 2nd book. Here are some possibilities: Dobby, Lucius Malfoy, Gilderoy Lockhart, Mr. Borgin, Colin Creevey, Justin Finch-Fletchley, or Tom Riddle. I highly doubt that it is Dobby, but then again we know nothing of his blood. Lucius is a pure-blood. I don't remember any mentions of Lockhart's blood, but Harry and company met him at St. Mungo's in the 5th book and I don't think he has the right state of mind to do anything. But I could be wrong! Now, Mr. Borgin was the shopkeeper of Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley who bought stuff from Mr. Malfoy. Rowling didn't mention anything about his blood either, although he says "Wizard blood is counting for less everywhere" which may suggust that he is pure-blood as well. Colin Creevey just mentions that his father was a Muggle so he is either a mudblood or a half blood. Justin told Harry he was muggle born. Finally Tom Riddle says he was half blood to Dippet, but Rowling said the HBP wasn't Voldemort. The fact is that Tom Riddle will become Voldemort, but if Rowling considers them both two different persons Riddle may very well be the half blood prince.
