Does waxing hurt?

I am going to have my legs waxed on Wednesday and just wondered how much it hurt? I am a bit of a wuss when it comes to pain, had my eye-brows done a few weeks ago and my eyes wouldnt stop watering! lol Thanks xx

As your hairs are being pulled out of your legs forcibly by being stuck to this waxed material I would think the answer would be yes. It depends of course how determined you are to have smooth legs. I tried a similar sort of thing at the beauty salon - on my face - with a thing called sugaring. A brief sharp pain - they do it quickly - and jobs done. Worth it in the long run.

I am giving it a go as I have to shave at least every 2 days because they grow back so blimming quick! I may have to take something to gag myself with before I get done for noise pollution hehe x

One of the good points, roxie, is I believe it destroys some of the roots which means they won't grow again, although you may have to have several sessions to get rid of them permanently. Depends how determined you are!

Well I'm hoping after the first strip my leg will be numb so I can't feel anymore haha wishful thinking? I will see how it goes. I've tried doing a home kit one, I out the wax strip on, have to try and build myself up to pull it off but can't lol, I end up peeling it off :( x

it hurts but it is quick. the more you get it done, the easier it is.

just buy an epilator and get over yourself ;o)

Ratter, you don't have to do it as often as other hair removal treatments and after a decade or so, the hair starts to give up growing so vigorously.

Oh yes, the serotonin rush after using an epilator on your own armpits.....so worth the pain.

All right for you RATTER - you are a man and don't have this problem of making yourself attractive. Except for shaving your face but even that is not essential. You can grow a beard and that is quite acceptable.

I do it, Mosaic.. but only about every 3 weeks as the hair growth is now so sparse :o)

it looks a bit like a shaver, but it whips the hair out from the root!
