Have you ever had a professional facial done in a salon? Approx how much did you pay, was it worth it & how long did the effect last? I'd never really thought about it until a friend recently mentioned she'd like one so I'm considering going too - we could both do with a bit of cheering up.

phew, it's very humid out there today...

Oh will there be pictures in one of those medical books jno, you know, the ones with scary pics of people being operated on with only a wooden spoon to bite down on? When I had a hospital check up in Dec the young doctor was absolutely fascinated by the regime of treatment I'd had back in the 80s....the 80s! I felt as though I was sitting there in my bustle & bonnet talking about the 1880s....If I'd told him I'd been dragged into a tent & had half a dozen witch doctors dancing over me he wouldn't have been more amazed....It's wonderful to be a walking curiosity intit?

Phew! how humid is it going to get!! I'm off out to a quiz tonight with my old rock and roll partner and her husband.
It's a funny quiiz not a serious job. I hate it when it gets too serious.

Been to Tai chi this morning and the 11 of us went out for lunch to a pub called Eaton Farm. They do a good carvery and they accept your Gold Card with 20% off. Not bad. I had a pudding called Lemon Maringue Mess. All mixed up meringue and lemon and cream - Loverly!!

Hope you have a good night All

I have my mug on record at St Georges Tooting as a medical curiousity .They thought I had lupus because I had that horrible butterfly rash on my face .Wrong diagnosis .I have what they call polymorphous light eruption and I have to slather on cream if I sit in the sun otherwise I end up looking like a swamp monster .They took lots of pictures and bioposies and wanted to experiment on me with leprosy drugs which my GP advised me not to do .
Needless to say ..it's no big deal :))....but not nice when you get a red lumpy face .
I still sit out at any opportunity but it's always under an umbrella or in the shade .Though as I have become older it seems to be not so bad.
I 've probably developed a thick skin somewhere along the line :)
Apart from that I had to go with Mr.S to buy trousers today . He's colour blind so if I don't go and supervise he comes back with hideous colours which he reckons are brown or beige but are in fact sludgy green or washed out blue .
Keep taking the tablets girls ..

If you're ill pop a pill .LOL LOL LOL

shaney my arms came up in bumps when the sun appeared a few days ago...but I didn't want to mention it as I'm sure it's just a NBD. btw, have you seen the new AB uniform?
I'll have that meringue thank you .C'.mon ..hand it over toot sweet :)
Love the T shirt .What does it say on the back ..no ...don't tell me let me guess ...... :0)

I've just watched Grumpy Old Women, I've a friend who thinks I should be on there ....who, moi?

I'll call you the Tooting Teaser from now on then shaney....in fact we should name ourselves Ye Olde Curiosities......crikey that article's very interesting, this thing I've got on my arms looks a lot like the less severe cases I've found pics of. I've been taking antihistamines, they help a bit. Oh deep joy, I've just found the cause of the pain in the bottom of my foot...a sunflower seed stuck to it. <strikes it off list of things to whinge about>

Good night at the quiz. My friend won a botttle of wine and a fiver and I won a fiver.

See you soon goodnight all
Morning all - lovely warm and a bit sweaty day, but that's probably just me! Have re-installed firefox and got rid of Avast and installed AVG and computer is much quicker now, but i still have to sign-in everytime. Do you lot have to? Have also installed a lovely prog which enables me to watch BBC 1 and 2 and ITV 1&2 and Chanel 4 so I can watch BB! Actually watch EE as it happened last night!

Now I'm bored, i've been for a walk, got Mr N to scrape down the outer walls in preparation for painting. How many times can one dip in a pool without getting more wrinkley!
I love Grumpy old Women, but they seem a bit young to me apart from Germaine Greer and Shiela Hancock.
Question Author
Morning all...oh well done Jude the meringoos are on you today then?

Yes neti some of the grumpies aren't that old I s'pose but I love Muriel Grey in particular.....please stop rubbing it in about your pool dipping, tut, it's much cooler here & the casted clouts are back on. No, I don't have to sign in all the time but some pages on here are very slow to load & sometimes it closes down altogether, which is jolly irritating. Apart from this thread there's not a lot to be said in favour of this site at the moment...just how long do they need to sort it & get the (mythical?) new version up & running?

fleurs du jour....shame I have to walk to the bottom of the garden & turn left to see them, but hey ho, sometimes the best things are just around the corner...oh well ....:o)
Have just seen on the news that pensioners are stripping off their clothes outside parliament -Respec'! Wait for me!!!
Question Author
what?! in these temperatures? hope they've kept their hairnets on.... Oh, hang on, it'll be jno, tut - any excuse to show off the suntan & medical curios.

oh poop, this box of cakes looks like Jude's meringuemess...they must have all crashed into each other when I was practising my emergency trolley stops to pee off the people behind me.
I have just been told I have one of these in my garden

I didn't plant it so heaven knows where it came from.

What a lovely photo of your flowers Robi what are they called?

No Neti I don't have to sign in everytime but I do keep this page on my desk top so I just have to click on it. I don't get much trouble from this site but then again I don't go into the other topics very often.

Watching tennis again today and Federer my fave has won again and is through to the semi-finals so I really do expect him to win the Championship.

See you alkl soon take care! x
I keep this on my desktop too but have to sign-in which is why I can't be bothered half the time, sorry my pretties!
Question Author
oi Jude! if that pasque flower's from a seed off my plant I'll be sending you the bill...I demand a dna test. Lovely aren't they? :o)

My pic was of honeysuckle 'serotina' (planted by the hippy friend who died, so it's a nice reminder) and clematis 'lasurstern'. The honeysuckle's a tad early but they've made a lovely combination that way.

Sorry we're too much trouble for you neti....we'd climb a mountain to get to your thread....or two even....but don't worry, we understand....<shuffles off>

Question Author
oh well, seeing as emotional blackmail didn't work I may as well make good use of this

I wouldn't mind a pasque flower seed .The new neighbour ripped mine out .I know it was in their garden and wasn't mine but it had crept across and I'd trained it round me seat .That'll teach me to appropriate other peoples plants ! My old friend Jean was a b for nipping off pieces of foliage in passing !
My Buddleia Globulosa which is now huge came from a bit I nipped off a bush in the park . Now don't shop me because I'll know who did it :)
Had to put a clout on as it's rather chilly here .I suppose that was it then ? The outlook is more of the same .
Having done my civic duty I shall now write to my MEP and complain about misleading statements from the Met Office. He'll probably write back saying it's NBD :0)
Hope you are all OK......Toodleypip for now

oh life at last, hello shaney...I was boogering about on the Argoos site & heard you pop up.... my neighbour wants a dictaphone ......

<pauses while they make up their own jokes>

......& keeps changing her mind. Would you believe it's for recording what the doctors & nurses say to her when she sees them, haha.... (there's quite a few of 'em)

You could have had seeds from my Pasque flower but I cut it off before it made any. My Bud Glob is huge too & when it's flowered it's in for a good chopping back this year but for now between my crack team of gardeners & myself we are up to speed with the garden...just a case of keeping the grass tidy....... Unless I just happen to spot a few more bedding plants....and there's a spare tub....no, no.....no!!
