Hi all,

Has anyone out there ever had been to permanent hair removal on their face?

If so, was it successful, did the hair grow back, was there any scaring, how many sessions etc. Was it really worth it. How do you find someone who is honest and reliable.

I ask because I'm early 50's and have always had very fine, short hair on the sides of my face and chin. Now that I'm at that time of life these fine hairs are turning into course granny hairs. I usually pluck the granny hairs and use wax on my upper lip but was wondering about something more permenant.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

I seem to be answering a lot of questions with the 'Marmite analogy' recently. By that I mean that people either love it or loathe it. For example, there are 78 reviews of a (US) laser hair removal system here. Nearly every review awards either one star or five stars, with very little 'middle ground':

I can't find a similar link for electrolysis but this detailed account (from a single US-based reviewer) might be of interest:

Chris
my friends mum had it done. expensive , several visits. happy with result.
i have electrolysis on a few hairs that grow out of my chin. there are no side effects other than a slight redness that fades very quickly. i started having treatment at my local beauty salon every month about 8 months ago and now only need it every 2 months. i would definitely recommend it.
