Kidney Test - Sugars/96 Hours?
5 Answers
Hi. Just a curiosity question. Does anyone know what a urine test would be (kidney related) which has something to do with tiny little sugars and is monitored (or takes) about 96 hours?
Thanks for any help :)

When I had my bloods screening done on Monday and gave in the urine sample the nurse mentioned it was to look for tiny tiny little sugars which needed to be looked for by the lab - nothing that would show up on a dipstick thing.
I spoke to the Dr yesterday to increase my omeprazole to see if that helps with some of the methotrexate sickness/heartburn and he seemed puzzled why a urine test wasn't back yet as usually very quick then said he saw what it was for and it takes longer as it has to be left/monitored for about 96 hours if that helps shed any further light?

Sorry Karen, it was a test ordered as my kidney blood results have been quite changeable and had high creatinine and mildly reduced kidney function (think it was the fact they were changing so much though). I've been referred for a kidney scan too.
Sqad, on a brighter note, my ALT which was slightly raised has pretty much halved and my Alk Phos has dropped a lot too so that has to be a good thing :)
