Vaseline. From my experience nothing works as good as Vaseline.

Every time you change her nappy apply a bit, whether the area looks sore or not.
there's some brilliant, heavy yellow stuff that works wonders. For love of money can I remember the name of it but it's totally water repellent and my two used to sleep like logs.......no rashes at all!
Drapolene? My friend's little girl used to suffer horrid nappy rash and her mum swore by this stuff.
I used Drapolene. An old fashioned one that our mothers swore by is Zinc and castor oil cream.
Metanium - with another brand name. Perhaps some on will pop it. Essentially an American product but one could get it here.
Metanium applied thinly at every nappy change will act as a barrier to protect the skin
Fuller's Earth?
A tip my mum gave me was to wash babies bum with lots of soap (bar). Soap dries out the skin. Leave her without a nappy for as long as poss and then put the barrier cream on before putting a new nappy on. I've always used sudo so can't recommend any others.
Ive always used sudo too......for everything and anything!
Drapolene is soothing. If you chaf after exercise. Or whatever. You know what I mean.
Something called Bepanthan ( not sure if that is spelled right) my sister used on her babies. Poor little bed, hope she is sorted soon xx
Wash with plenty of aqueous cream, dry thoroughly and apply tiny amount of sudocreme, people usually apply way to much, it then has the adverse affect, if that fails you may need to use a barrier cream like Cavalon.
Drapolene or bepanthen.
Bepanthen is great for nappy rash. Also recommended for healing new tattoes!
I used chilled egg white painted on to my kids bottoms if they were very sore, my health visitor recommended it to me and I was very surprised that it actually worked. My daughters used the same on their kids when they were babies too.
Oh, from the title I thought I'd find piles of answers here, yet there are only 15 rash ones.
I don't know about soap but I agree with ummmm, baby needs to have as much time as possible without a nappy. I hear most mums talking about bepanthen.
Awww poor baby nobs :(

For my issues I was prescribed Metanium. Watch what it comes into contact though fabric wise as it is a bit like suborn very yellow sudocrem and can stain.

Keep an eye out for anything which might be making things worse like white spots in case any thrush gets on it as that can make it so much sorer and is easily calmed by the appropriate cream.

I find the lesser touch the better, I find the moist toilet tissues brilliant as quite gentle and soothing when trying to clean. Anything dry just hurts a lot.

I also tend to put the cream on and let it work it's own way to where it needs to be rather than putting it right on the painful bit as it doesn't irritate it as much. Especially so with thicker creams such as sudocream and Metanium and Vaseline.
So save money and get your babies bum tattood at the same time.
A paediatric consultant recommended Metanium when out youngest grandvhild had real problems in that area, and it calmed her almost immediately.
