That sequence of events is rare..........very rare, especially in an adult.

So, I cannot see how flying can cause an embolism to the brain.

That's good to know. If I ever cobble together enough to go and taste the fleshpots of the Far East I don't want to be putting my health at risk in the process.
there are worse things to suffer from in these flesh pots, as some friends discovered.
